Horrible!! Waited for over 2.5 hours just to get tags. All because I changed insurance companies last month. Was told to sit for over another hour. Need more auto kiosk machines. Everyone is confused. I had to explain to 7 people how to even do this. Take care of this. I pay all this money for horrible service????

Brutal. I get there and the manager says I can get a new license plate from document check, document check tells me to wait. Awful phone number check in system that was working so poorly they turned it off and had the same manager calling numbers faster than people could understand then getting mad when everyone was frustrated.

SOS is always a terrible time but this place will make you want to drive 45 minutes to another to save some time.

After seeing the huge number of bad reviews for this place, clearly no one is making any attempt to correct their issues, but here's another for them to ignore.
  My daughter had to have her permit reissued when she lost her original. However it does not reissue with the original date on the permit so the girl at the counter wrote it on the new document. I asked her if she was sure that was valid and she assured me it was. My daughter went to take her road test and the instructor told her the permit was not valid and that the SOS office had to stamp it with their location and date or he could be charged with a felony. I was so angry, I had taken her out of school, waited 40 minutes cause he was running behind and then had to go back to the SOS office for a stupid stamp and reschedule the road test that I will have to take her out of school for again.
  We waited a good 30 minutes to be seen and the woman said she didn't know what we needed a stamp for and that the original date was on it. I said it's handwritten and anyone could write it on there and she still insisted it was what they do, but stamped it anyway without even looking up the document to see if what is written on it is correct. 
Now I'm super pissed because I have people telling me two different things. I think the SOS is lax on their treatment of permits as the instructor is correct and anyone can write a date on it and say they're ready for their road test yet still not have the proper amount of time accumulated. 
  Just a bunch of BS govt bureaucracy. Update the damn system! When you reissue a permit, make sure the original date prints on the permit, so there is no question that it was reissued!! I cannot believe a simple technology update cannot be implemented to avoid this situation altogether. And train people properly to handle these issues. This woman didn't even understand what the issue was and waved away the problem.
