Katie Weston is so rude and does not try to help at all. She's lazy. Also waits until someone is dead to call back. They let all deadbeat convincing "father" off the hook all the time. Everything is file a motion. You have to file a motion for them to tell a dumbass that they can't get your child at 10am during school. What kind of sense is that? They need to fire all the people there and bring in new people. Not people who only care about having a job. You're not in our daily lives, you're not the parent, you don't have a say.

The folks who work at the Oakland County Friend of the Court do a thankless job in enforcing orders for parenting time and child support. They deserve praise, not criticism for their efforts. I am a family law attorney who has represented equal numbers of men and women from all economic levels for over 30 years. People are don't realize how fortunate they are to have the FOC services.

They will write recommendations based on here say and and referee bolton cannot even transcribe my RECORDED testimony correct? really? unbelievable. i had to take an assessment at the cost of $225, was never used but court orderd! I guess if your ex claims certain things, the court takes there word for it, hmm wonder if it works the other way around, no we all know how this system works. Word to the wise, never object to there recommendations, they will throw there arms up and give up. Really? Take my advice dad's , don't push back, as ludicrous as you think there recommendation is, take it from me. It just makes there job harder and they will penalize you for making them do anymore then they have to. again, our tax dollars at work. if i could give a negative 5 rating i would. Worst experience of my life to say the least. better off to work something out between you and your ex then to use foc. GIve yourselves a pat on the back, job well done in screwing up peoples lives and kids, what do they care? they do not, are self serving and that is the extent of it. The whold system is only geared towards collecting child support. 20 parenting complaints, and excuse after excuse, and when you do follow thru, they or the judge find another excues.. Update sept. 12, once again oakland county wasted mine and everyones elses time, had ample time to review documents and postponed evidentiary hearing for 2 more months!!!! I have been lied to by staff attorneys who have no idea about the case. Meanwhile still not seeing my kids, my ex wife is and has been calling the shots oakland county cares nothing about what they do, peoples lives or how they affect them at all. i have been told half truths and left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. its a mess and ludicrous. here is a dad fighting to see his kids and pays over 1100 in support, yet my ex alienates my kids from me and NOTHING is done.

....continued off my last W M Luna review due to verbosity & Google text/character limits.... Accolades also go to a / the FOC Family Counselor gentleman. I do not know how he does his job without wanting to choke somebody out. Apparently my/our specific case slanted more towards Divorce-Lite (speculating on observation & offered data). I was impressed that a brief, but colorful & uber salty text/complaint between myself and the opposing human (ok, well, mainly myself) was handled Switzerland-like. I had reached a fed up and 'hype' position where my communication style lacked endearment & the civility of polite company. Particularly after an inspired Netflix binge of expletive-filled British reality shows. Not an excuse, but just keeping it real. So... Needless to say, I had ABSOLUTE ZERO confidence and TRUST in dealing with the Oakland County FOC based on the ex's established position, along with his available & previously utilized "inside" resources, but the scales of justice have been fair thus far. If you're brand spanking new to these eye-crossing divorce gymnastics, some words of advice... If you're​ a Regular (but similarly awesome) Joe or Jane on a budget & have a motion filed against you for a change of whatever sort, you can file a response on your own for FREE. You have to do that at the 1200 courthouse, but be sure to also send copies to the opposing party & main related FOC personnel (the assigned referee & family counselor). You can do so on a blank general response non-FOC MC04 form you can get online. A very nice lady at the courthouse law library provided me with one, along with some copied legal literature paperwork showing a general format I should follow. There was something I forgot to add to the original parenting time complaint response and I filed a brief amended request, again, for free. Just remember to try to keep your end of things to just the (mostly) non-emotional facts / reasons pertaining your case. Also download & utilize the given year's Michigan child support calculation manual. Interesting / informative stuff there. I personally think it's disgusting the stress & agita one unnecessarily goes through with the lack of information available to be able to utilize in your defense despite the available resources & procedures structured into the System. The stars aligned and if it wasn't for the FOC Counselor mentioning in passing that I could file a response to the ex's motion at no cost, I would have still been out of my mind trying to figure out how I could sustain paying more $100's of dollars an hour in attorney fees. So if you're a dysfunctional/broken family newbie & an envelope with a court return address arrives at your doorstep from the Exxy-X, be sure to investigate how you can advocate for yourself. Another thing I did not know was that you meet with the/a FOC family counselor 1st before your hearing takes place in front of the referee. This gives you the opportunity to discuss or mediate the upcoming issues beforehand. Depending on how things go, the Family Counselor person offers their assessment to the Referee before your hearing kicks off. Again, highly disappointing that this information on internal structural / procedural level is not offered to those of us new to the system we will be involved with for YEARS to come. One would think they could crowbar that bit of helpful info as an enlightening segment within that hot-room snorefest of a SMILE program. Or shoot an info page to their website geek to copy, paste, & hit save on simple and highly useful text. But these are the people, from what I have directly heard, have ~3 HOUR phone meetings to hash, extrapolate, and implement any given governmental revamp or law we ALL have to contend with. Your 'efficient', no-shocker tax dollars at work. Anyway, I hope this gives some hope, ease, and personal power if you're in a position to have to deal with the local bureaucratic powers that be, i.e., The Man, Caeser, et. al. "Feel it real", people (credit Goddard, if you swing that way) and go forth. *woman raises fist*

Worst service ever they don't wanna do their job been dealing with them for a year about getting child support and still nothing. And the father works for the government they just don't wanna deal with the paper work.
