The Security Water District provides a potable water supply to customers within its service area.
The Security Water and Sanitation Districts were both formed in 1954 as Colorado Title 32 Special Districts. The area served by the Districts are generally bordered by Academy Blvd. and Proby Parkway on the north, Powers Blvd. and Grinnell Blvd. on the east, Fontaine Blvd. on the south and Fountain Creek on the west. The Districts serve about 7,600 taps and a population of approximately 19,000. The Security Water District provides a potable water supply to customers within its service area. The Security Sanitation District provides wastewater collection and treatment services to customers within its service area. The Districts are funded primarily by user fees (water and wastewater charges). Tap fees for new construction also provide a significant portion of annual revenue. Each District assesses a small mill levy, which along with interest and miscellaneous income make up most of the rest of the Districts’ income.
