I was referred to Sequoia Mind Health by my psychiatrist to evaluate whether or not ketamine treatments would be effective for my PTSD/Depression. I first called Sequoia Mind Health shortly after the recommendation and they were able to set up an appointment for me to see Dr. Goodwin for the first infusion within two days. I was weary about the cost of treatment, since it is not covered by my insurance, but I was willing to give it a shot. I am extremely glad that I did.

The first thing I want to touch on is Cuyler Goodwin himself. He is an exemplary physician with a degree of empathy and insight that needs to be noted. He has created an environment for his patients that radiates calmness, and the staff that run the clinic with him are genuine, and kind. 

I did my first treatment in the late morning, and by the evening I found myself able to connect with others again authentically in a manner I had not been able to in months. Following a treatment two days later, I experienced an immediate profound and through relief from my anxieties and depression. As we have raised the dose I have found the positive after-effects lasting longer and longer. My sessions with Dr. Goodwin have given the most valued parts of myself back to me. It is not unlike hitting a reset button that simply clears away the noise so I can again cherish what matters.

I have used this opportunity in the past few weeks to change some of my other habits. I know very well that I do best when I sleep routinely, exercise daily, eat healthily, and stay connected with my community; alas, as stress, anxiety, and depression mount sometimes many of these habits slide right off of my calendar. That's where ketamine has really been most effective--it reconnects me with a part of myself that is mindful, unworried, even joyful. Then I can take that state and use it to get back to what is important to me.

Dr. Goodwin has stepped outside the prevailing tide of medicine and is looking forward in this world. He has taken some of the most-promising treatments on the horizon and incorporated them into a system of preventative care. My experiences and conversations with him have convinced me that he is someone I can absolutely trust with my mental health, and my appreciation is ongoing.

Dr Goodwin , What a wonderful human being, very personable, and caring. My family member has been diagnosed with bi polar. Was just diagnosed first time this year. It's frustrating finding the right fit (pyschtrist) for a family member. I started searching on internet. Looking at reviews  Today was our first visit. We got lucky, some one else canceled. So far we really like this doctor, and his medical approach to healing. The staff and office setting is inviting and comfortable with a earthy feel to nature. Hence the name Sequoia. So far 5 stars!!
