Perhaps it's just when I go, but this place always seems desolate. The staff there, while generally helpful, aren't always the most approachable. Product selection is fine, and layout is fine, but I always feel like they're missing at least one thing on my shopping list. Prices are ok, but with a market basket down the way, and the inconvenience of the poorly designed parking lot, it makes a little more sense to me to go somewhere else.

Shaw's is an interesting grocery store. On the one hand, most items are a little more expensive than market basket. On the other hand, those that aren't are leaps and bounds cheaper than their market basket counterparts. Don't go here for a full cart, instead shop smartly and hit the sales to get higher quality food for less than market basket.

Shaw's is always clean and has high quality groceries. The store brand has completely been overhauled, and a lot of the store brand products are of superior quality to its name brand counterparts and even store brands of other grocers. They also tend to have a superior selection of natural and organic store brand products, as they have a deli turkey that they roast in-store, all natural greek frozen yogurt, and organic hummus that is very differentiated. The service is always top notch. Pricing can be all over the map but it averages out to be a little less expensive than your other options. The only shortcoming of this store is that the prepared foods selection is quite slim as they have a very limited selection of subs and no fresh sushi like their other locations, but I really don't come to eat lunch or dinner here, and if I need to do so, there's plenty of options in a walkable distance.
