Story

We are the center for the Traditional Conservative Jewish Community of Columbus, Georgia. Shearith Israel seeks to enrich personal, cultural, social & physical growth by promoting traditional Jewish values in our community and the community as a whole. We offer wonderful programs, services, & fellowship for Jews of all ages.

Shearith Israel is a warm, welcoming multi-generational egalitarian congregationand is committed to building a caring, learning, social and spiritual community where our members feel at home.

Mission

We are a growing Jewish community in Columbus Georgia. Our congregation presently includes families and single households ranging from retired through young families and young adults.

We are an active community committed to building a Jewish congregation that is welcoming to individuals and families of all backgrounds including full time locals and visitors who are here for just a short time.

Within a supportive environment we seek to provide opportunities for Jewish learning, spiritual development, meaningful Shabbat, holiday services, mutual support and social activities. Most importantly, Congregation Shearith Israel seeks to provide the opportunity for every Jewish person, family and extended family to BELONG to our community, so that they may connect with other Jews, regardless of the amount of time they spend in services.

Rabbi Brian Glusman's visits have brought added enthusiasm to the bima!!! Please check with our office for schedule or website for calendar of events and service times.
Friday Services begin at 6:30 pm followed by dinner- please call, email, or message to let us know how many will attend. Visitors are always welcome.

Saturday Services begin at 9:30 am with a light breakfast and discussion with Shabbos services to follow. Come be a part of the experience.
