I paid 8 dollars per day through the Hilton Garden Inn to park in the lot behind the hotel.  Apparently my parking pass wasn't clearly visible to the parking attendant.  Even after showing them proof that parking was paid for the week they wouldn't rescind the citation and I was charged $67 dollars through the rental car company for the citation.  

I will NEVER stay downtown again on the multiple business trips I take per year.   Congratulations, you just lost thousands of dollars for your city.

As a new resident to Chattanooga, I haven't quite figured out the parking downtown. I finally got the run down from the locals that Sunday street parking is free. To my surprise, I came out to a parking ticket on Sunday once I left my new job. I understand that the city needs to make money and that I obviously don't understand the rules of the road yet, but I think it's sad that they aren't willing to work with people who might be a little ignorant of the way their systems work on a first time offense.

What happened to no meters on weekends? I moved from Chattanooga 5 years ago when at that time I could go down town and grab dinner without paying meters on weekends. This past weekend I visited friends and ate downtown only to find a ticket for $11 on my car. I will never come back to downtown when there are plenty restaurants not downtown. It's all bull sh**. Don't eat downtown. There are a ton of great places with free parking in Chattanooga.

FOR A METER PARKING TICKET I APPEALED AND LOST.  A HEARING WAS SCHEDULED AND 2 MONTHS PASSED BEFORE THE HEARING FINALLY OCCURRED.  FINALLY, THE HEARING WAS HELD WITH AN ATTORNEY, MYSELF AND A CPA REP.  I AGAIN LOST PER THE HEARING.  BIG, BIG ISSUE I HAVE IS -AFTER WAITING 2 MOS AND MEETING WITH 3 INDIVIDUALS -  I RECEIVED NO MEANINGFUL FEEDBACK (REASON(S)), ETC.) AS TO WHY I LOST MY FINAL APPEAL!!!!!!!!  I APPLAUDE THE PROCESS AFFORDED BY THE CPA.  BUT, WITH THIS ATTORNEY-INVOLVED PROCESS THE DEFENDANT DESERVES A DETAILED BUT SUCCINCT EXPLANATION (FROM THE ATTY) AS TO WHY HIS/HER APPEAL FAILED - OTHER THAN THE MEANINGLESS, SHORT TEXT ('METER EXPIRED') PROVIDED ON THE ORIGINAL TICKET!!!!!!!!!!
THE CPA SHOULD NOT EVEN HAVE BEEN VOTED 1 STAR FOR THIS SERIOUS BREAKDOWN IN THE PROCESS!!!

After parking illegally it shocked me into not doing it again after receiving a parking ticket at a government building as a contractor dropping an item of expeditiously.         I know they work hard and put up with a lot of stuff to make our parking system work thanks
