Auto repairs are stressful, everyone is booked this time of year. Silva's Automotive made time and had the right answer for each need my automobile had there were a few and more. I will be there to see the great team they have. Thank you, Tina

Carlos was willing to squeeze me in at the last minute as I was traveling through Idaho Falls. I had two issues with my vehicle. He replaced a sender unit, which only fixed one of the two issues and told me that I should be okay driving 500 miles home without addressing the other issue. It was quite apparent that he just didn't want to look into it. He fixed the easier of the two issues and left the rest of the work for another mechanic. Furthermore, he tried to charge me about $100 to replace a serpentine belt. I happen to know that I can get a new belt for about $25 and install it in just a few minutes. Needless to say, I declined. I have a strong suspicion that I overpaid for that sensor, but it was a necessary thing to get me home. To make things worse, every time I spoke to Carlos, he went on about how he has seen a lot of engine issues with my type of vehicle, which didn't make me feel very good about being there. If I need service in Idaho Falls again, I probably won't return to this shop. Update: I was driving on the highway not long after the above experience and my "check engine" light started flashing, my vehicle began to stumble a lot and it was making a horrible noise. After waiting two hours for a tow truck to the middle of nowhere, I found out that the camshaft sensor had gone out. I knew something was wrong this whole time and Carlos had insisted that it'd be okay. It would have saved me a lot of trouble if he had just fixed it in the first place.

What do you think of Silva's Automotive? I recently broke down and was towed to Silva's. The car was supposedly repaired and I was charged $500. Just over an hour of leaving the shop my car was running poorly and shorting out. I took the car back to the shop and left it with a note explaining that it was not running properly. I left the key in the lock box and walked to work in the dark and the cold. I called Silva's for two days at a total of ten to twelve calls and finally spoke to someone who said they would try to get my car fixed. I caught a ride home from work and about five hours later my car was delivered. The young man who delivered it said he was late because they ran out of gas. He handed me a paper saying my battery was leaking and that I needed to spend $400 more for a tune up. He then stated my car would not run because when the wires were disconnected that it made weak connections. The car ran poorly and broke down. I called Silva's and was given the run around. The business manager then called and basically belittled me, embarrassed me and put me down and made me cry. My regular mechanic who usually does my work cared enough to show up and get my car running and followed me home to make sure I was safe! I just don't know what to do. I feel like I was ripped off and basically that Silva's does not care about me or standing behind their work!
