What a disappointment. My family typically rents a house up here when we visit but this time decided on a quick weekend trip staying at Silvercreek since that’s our kids favorite place to snowboard. 

I can deal with wallpaper, window treatments, carpet, and furnishings that are obviously 30 years old. I can also deal with baseboard heat and no air conditioning and a wood burning fireplace on an upper floor where you are lugging up firewood that you pay for if and when available instead of getting with the times and converting to gas. But I can not deal with old bedding and mattresses - blankets that haven’t been made like this since I don’t know when. They made a cracking sound when we unfolded them. Also mattresses that are 30 years old. Gross!  I wish I could post a picture. They are super thin and royal blue in color when new but are now discolored by who knows what. I thought there was a law about how long hotels could use the same mattress. Also, they provided one roll of toilet paper and when I asked for more they said we had to buy from the store downstairs. I wasn’t happy about this but whatever not going to let it ruin my trip. However, they were sold out of toilet paper. I returned to the front desk where they told me to drive to the village to purchase. Absolutely not!  I ended up with a single roll of toilet paper. 

$650 for 3 nights with these accommodations is highway robbery.

First time going to SnowShoe and Silver Creek lodge. It was terrible. The both hot tubs were broke from Thursday-Monday, the room was very dated, had to ask for new linens twice because the first 2 sets were not clean. No coffee. Had to buy it. The heater only worked on 2 settings, off and full blast, both vending machines were broke, house keeping went in our room and left The door open all day. The lodge is in an excellent location. Just very poor management apparently.

Pros: Our room was clean and well maintained. The pool and hot tub area was also great. Views and location are top notch. Lots of activities  close by.
Cons: Our room was tiny, with a queen size Murphy bed built into the wall. When the bed was folded open, the room was full. The bed had no support and my wife and I found ourselves  sliding to the middle  of the bed through the night.  During  off season, the hotel is empty of staff and you need to check in/out at the Allegany Springs. There was also construction going on at the hotel. I was woke up every morning  at 7:30 to the sound of hammers, drills and power saws coming from a nearby floor.

2017 dec 22 Having been here 5+ times since 98 I was expecting a refurbished, renovated place. 20 years ago this was a great place. Not anymore. Staff is great. Rooms are decent (all are owners rooms, so this isn't a hotel more like a giant rbrb )
Slopes are great. Night ski is wonderful. Tubing hill is superb. But the place needs investment badly. No food court. There is one restorant, one small bar from 11-7 but it lacks everything else. Dated, worn, stuck in the 90's. 
This place could be a gold mine with some good investment. Skiing here is better then at the village. 
Heard that a new company bought the place during past summer and started to refurbish the place. I hope they do. If there is snow this place is awesome but needs to be elevated to the level of the Snowshoe village.  Will keep checking the updates and if there are improvements we will return.
