Story

Welcome to Silver Falls Lodge & Conference Center!

A National Historic Landmark, South Falls Lodge at Silver Falls State Park combines the best in mother nature with the best in human nature. Built by Civilian Conservation Corps workers in 1940-41, South Falls Lodge complements the breathtaking beauty of Silver Falls State Park with timeless park lodge style and guest services.

Silver Falls Lodge & Conference Center has long been one of Oregon’s favorite places to meet. In 2014, its management was assigned by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department to Silver Falls Recreation Company, whose parent company has been serving national, state and regional park visitors since 1975.

Just 35 minutes east of Salem, 1.5 hours south of Portland International Airport and 20 minutes south of Silverton, near Sublimity, Silver Falls State Park is closeby, yet sufficiently secluded to allow for productive meetings, intimate ceremonies and inspirational outings.

Best known for its many waterfalls, Silver Falls State Park features 25 miles of trails, including the renowned Trail of Ten Falls, a National Recreation Trail. Situated in a temperate rain forest, the park is a favorite of hikers, picnickers, bicyclists, anglers, photographers, equestrians, swimmers, dog-walkers, wildlife viewers and anyone moved by nature’s wonders.

5 min drive to the beautiful South Falls of Silver Falls. The lodge is neat and clean. The shared shower is a lot nicer than expected. Good place to take family pictures in Upper Smith area.

My husband and I stayed at Calypso Lodge. This lodge has a queen size bed.The living room is spacious with two day beds with about 20 pillows. The kitchen is provided with a lot of knives, utensils and dishes. The bathroom has a spacious shower room with a shower and another rain shower. It also has a separate bath tub with jets. This lodge was remodeled in June 2017, and everything is new. It does not have air conditioning or heater, but has a wood stove. It has TV, but no cable. You will need to bring DVD or be subscribed with Amazon, Netflix, and so on to watch TV. The lodge has a outdoor table and chairs, and fire pit. It has own parking spot right next to the lodge. We loved staying in this lodge.

On first note the staff was amazing and worthy of five stars but...... We paid $25 per adult for meals half that for children. The meal - cafeteria food, gut wrenching and disgusting. The dinner wasn't worth $5. The breakfast just as atrocious with powdered eggs. I can't say enough how disappointed my whole family was by the meal we paid top dollar for. I could've gotten a nice steak dinner and an amazing organic breakfast somewhere else for the price. If you rent rooms in a lodge rent the whole lodge or it's really uncomfortable as you have to walk by the other rooms to use the restroom. The rooms are not worth the price. It's not like a lodge at all. It's 70's motif with ripped bed spreads in a super tiny room. If you want to use the fridge and there are others in the lodge, good luck. The fridge is the size you would get in a one room motel for six rooms in the lodge. On top of all this we brought bathing suits because the lodge advertises a pool. Pool was closed for the season due to painting. Something that needs to be stated before paying. We brought discs for disc golf, course wasn't set up. It's not that far to Silverton or even Sublimity to stay in a motel. You will be much more comfortable and you'll be able to find better food.
