Please shoot me! This line is taking forever! Two hours so far for a replacement. No one is friendly. No one cares. Your classic government office at it's worst. It's the 21st century why can't we order them online?

I went to get a replacement card for my social security. Got my number and waited for my number to be called. Got to the window and staff notified that I need to have an application. There was no sign stating we need to have the application filled prior to the office. But I did take the application, filled it as I was told and staff said I’ll be next after I filled the form. So I did and went patiently waited for the person behind me to be seen by the same  time customer services person. When that person was done, they called another person and then another. So at this time, 4 people has been seen and I was still having to wait. When I approached the same customer service person, he then rudely told me to sit back down and he will call my number when he wants to. Never been treated this way with any customer service. Rude unprofessional.

The staff was very professional, polite but business-like. Their two step system is very efficient, minimizing the time needed to conduct my business there. A surprisingly pleasant experience!

Very fast service compared to all the other ss offices around Chicago. They tend to solve your issue in the first window instead of making you wait till the second window. The parking lot is also quite bigger than other ss offices.

I applied for a social security and didn’t receive anything 24 days after my application. Went back to the office and turned out that my application hasn’t been processed.
