I just got off with Syracuse office. Woman was helpful, efficient and pleasant. I had to wait about 3 minutes

I give a one star, because the office was easy to find. A friend went syracuse offers on a letter she got. When she on the floor she need she sign in with the computer got a ticket and waiting for her number to be call. After an hour her number was call and when to the window, the lady said you put the wrong information in. You need a get another ticket.  They need to go back to the old way, have people helping and not get paid 25.00 dollars an hour sit and watch people.  Or maybe you should bring back the auburn office back. You talk to real people. And now waiting 4 hour and still waiting for her numbers to be called.  That is sad.

Went in to apply for a new SSN. Social Security is on the 4th floor. There are four service counters and tickets are also divided into four categories: A, B, C and O followed by a number. Mine was 7th from the one being serviced at the time. They were moving pretty quickly and I was out in less than an hour. Very impressive!

Really SAD. I had a pending SSI claim for over 2 months until I went to this SSI place to file for social security survivors benefits. Anyone can google that you do not need an appointment for that. The woman helping me tried to tell me I DID and gave me a telephone  appointment. To make matters even worse-After that, they SUPPOSEDLY have no record of my pending SSI claim. No confirmation number because I did not file online. I called up after my visit and talked to another woman who was very rude and nasty to me. And the telephone appointment that they gave me has come and gone. THEY CALLED ME FOR THAT APPOINTMENT AFTER 11.00 AM WHEN THE APPOINTMENT WAS FOR 10:30 AM. TO ME, THAT IS LIKE THEY NEVER CALLED ME. I HAD OTHER THINGS TO DO, COULD NOT WAIT AROUND ALL DAY FOR THEM AND PLANNED ACCORDINGLY. MAYBE THEY CANNOT TELL TIME THAT WELL.  I really don't know why or how they manage to keep their high , overpaying jobs. Now,  I report them to the OIG.
