Go for the drinks. They are 1/2 price right now. The food is subpar for fast food. I was not expecting a lot, but this did not meet expectations. There are better fast food options really close buy that also have good deals and make better tasting and hot food. Pros: 1. The mobile app is convenient to use. 2. Not a long for food when you get there and check in. 3. The service was friendly. 4. The drinks are cheap right now since they are 1/2 price. 5. The 2 for $5.00 deal is okay for burgers and some other items. Cons: 1. Food was lukewarm, at best, when I arrived, which was about 12 minutes after I ordered. 2. The staff does not read the tickets closely. I asked for mayo, the Sonic Special sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. I received 4 packets of ketchup that were stuck together w/ syrup and 1 Special Sauce for 6 burgers, 1 large french fries, and 1 large french fries with cheese. That was disappointing since I ordered to go and needed those condiments. 3. The burgers were really dry. 4. The fries were not great since they were not warm. 5. Cannot modify the items on the 2 for $5.00 deal.
It use to be awesome when they 1st opened up but now guess I over did it because I ordered a Coney island Hot Dog but when I got home. The bun was molded when I opened the wrapper. This was 10 years ago but I'm still scarred from it. I mainly get the drinks, fries, or desserts. Here's a update my son ordered the Coney island Chilli Dog not so bad from the pick.
3 stars, but you can't really expect too much with most fast food chains I suppose. It's usually on you for choosing to eat there, same with a Taco Bell or whatever. The Northeast has very few instances of actual legit fast-food chains, like Raising Cane's or Culver's. We had a great Hardee's in NB but we lost 'em, don't know how. Anyways, eating at Sonic for me means avoiding half the menu, but that's not so bad. Never get burgers and fries in particular, and the chicken is pretty meh too I still sometimes order it though, but the drink/shake options remain great, and their cheddar peppers and mozz sticks are always decent too. The Ultimate Meat and Cheese burrito is also a pretty tasty "breakfasty" fast food burrito with decent value, and the chili dog/coney options are nice too but value is iffy.
Seems like this sonic is slowly dying. Food quality is average and service is mediocre. I won't be back. Try the one on Parsonage Rd near Menlo Park Mall in Edison NJ
Food is always hot and fresh. And the staff is always super polite. 10/18 I came back to edit my review. I went last night and ordered $34 dollars worth of food. They jammed all the food into 1 bag making it impossible to quickly check if everything was there. I even asked is that everything and she replied yes. I get home and see that they forgot an item I payed 7 dollars on. If it wasn't cold and rainy I would have went back. This has been happening way too often. They use to rock.....not so much now.
I got the toaster and vomited an hour later. Now I’m traumatized from eating Sonics Giving an extra star because it had been okay before.
I went to Sonic for a crispy chicken sandwich and got chicken nuggets and fries instead. I took it back to get the chicken sandwich and I got a miniature chicken on the sandwich! I spent $8.31 on that sandwich! Their food is sloppily made! And they never have strawberry blasts! They even gave moldy bread/buns! This place is terrible and should be put out of business!!
The employees are fantastic. Friendly service with a smile. Never been any issues with any of the employees from the day they opened. I cannot say the same for the food. Unless something changed in the past year or so. Either I've only had soggy buns or stale buns. Anyone can make a better hot dog or hamburger at home. The soft serve Ice Cream is fine.. I mean, you really can't mess that up. I've had a few shakes but, meh. I really wanted to like this place. But I can't see me eating from here again any time soon.
Sonic is a staple in my household. So we've been to many Sonic Drive-in's in several states. This one by far is the best we've been too. The sevice was great & the food was actually hot!
I have been going here since this location opened roughly 10 years ago. The food has been consistently good. I never had a bad experience with this location and customer service is always friendly and courteous.
