Beginning in 1984, we've been big fans of the burger- beef, veggie, fancy, or simple. Starting in 2011, we've been delivering the favorites.

Story

In 2010, the Southern Burger Co. truck began slinging the
meanest gourmet burgers the streets of Chattanooga have
seen. Since then, we’ve changed some but we still provide for the
carnivorous needs of the masses. Enjoy, and for heaven’s sake,
don’t just “kinda” take a bite!

Very disappointing experience.  Almost 10 minutes of sitting and waiting before the waiter even acknowledge my presence which means not even a menu to look at or a drink to sip on while I sat there staring at the walls.  Eventually I ordered a jalapeno burger and tater tots. I wanted it medium but fully expected them to overcook it so I ordered it medium rare. It came out well done.  Barely a hint of pink in the very middle.  Ugh.  The waiter never did come back and ask if my meal was okay so I just ate it anyway because I was very hungry and already tired of waiting. The burger was completely dominated by the taste of something sweet.  I was expecting a little salty seasoning with the jalapeno plus cheese.  Nope. Whatever was making it so sweet completely covered up the taste of everything else.  Two little slices of jalapeno on the top didn't exactly make the jalapeno burger a jalapeno burger.  At least the tater tots we're good.  I don't think this place is a bust. I would be willing to try it again, order something else, and hope they don't miss the mark by 3 shades over done.

Excellent burgers and good beer. They have specialty burgers such as the Mac n Cheese or the AM burger (made with sausage and topped with bacon and a fried egg). The chorizo burger is also excellent. They also have chicken and other sandwiches. They offer a selection of beers, both bottled and draft, from national, local, and craft breweries. Appetizers are also offered, mostly fried pub food.

The wait staff is attentive but laid back. The atmosphere is casual and kid-friendly. Highly recommended.

The burgers here are awesome! Ashton took really good care of us. Been here several times and always had good experiences.

Very friendly staff. On Saturday, it is very child friendly. I had the BYOB. I made it was the Eye bun, medium cooked beef, blue cheese, wicked pickles, onions, and, spicy ranch. We also had some amazing fried Dill Pickles.

Located in a beautiful area, but the burgers are okay for the price. We got Dr Pepper and both drinks tasted like diet and watered down. The waiter replaced the drinks with coke and sweet tea and was very friendly. The coke again tasted awful for a fountain drink. Sweet tea was good. My go to burger place in ooltewah is Kevin Browns. Southern burger has more specialty burgers, but it still doesn’t compare to KB.
