If I could give zero stars I would! Ever since the merger of East coast providers occurred I have had nothing but aggravation from this hospital's conduct. I am scheduled for a simple, routine mammogram and was advised by SMHC to contact my insurance to see if their new machine was covered. Simple, right? Or so you might think. I contacted my insurance who responded by telling me that SMHC would have to contact provider services with the billing code and other information. I called back SMHC who replied, "Well, we will give you the code, but we don't call them". So, I contacted my insurance with the billing code and they replied that that information is incorrect and that the provider needed to call provider services. This is ridiculous and I will be contacting the hospital's administration as soon as I am able as this adventure has taken over an hour already. This is not an isolated incident, just the most recent. More and more this hospital has been negligent as to their responsibilities by passing the buck onto their patients and making it our responsibility to do their jobs. I recommend trying York Hospital when they come to Sanford in the months ahead.
