Story

SOUTHERN OREGON RV PARK is NOW OPEN! The long-awaited day is finally here and Jackson County Parks is unveiling a new RV park in Central Point (I-5, Exit 33), in Oregon's Rogue Valley.

This new park is nestled between two fishing ponds, teeming with trout, bass, and other warm-water fish. The park offers 92 full-hookup sites right in the heart of Southern Oregon, in a prime location near various lakes and the Rogue River, and is near ideal locations for outdoor activities such as rafting, boating, fishing, hiking, cycling and camping. The location is also convenient for attending the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon, and the Britt Music & Arts Festival in Jacksonville, Oregon.

S.O. RV Park also connects directly to the Bear Creek Greenway, a 20-mile, paved, multi-use trail that links the cities of Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, Medford and Central Point.

The new Big-Rig friendly park features 20-30-50-amp electrical service and water/sewer connections. All sites are paved with basic slips measuring 60’ by 30’ with 12’ wide parking pads, and premium slips measure 75' by 30' by 15' wide parking pads.

Each site has a picnic table on a concrete pad and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. The park has three centrally located restroom buildings with showers, as well as an additional restroom in the day-use area of the park. Traveling with pets? The park has a large off-leash area for your dogs to run free and stretch their legs.

While Phase 1 of this new RV park opened July 1st, Phase 2 Landscaping, was completed in the fall of 2016, and Phase 3 Park Headquarters Building and Free WI-FI, should be completed by April 1, 2017. Future plans for the park include group picnic shelters and accessible fishing docks.

Conveniently located on the northern edge of the Jackson County EXPO / Fairgrounds, the S.O. RV Park's close proximity to the EXPO facilities provides a perfect opportunity to camp in a quality RV park then walk to the Jackson County Fairgrounds for the fair, concerts, rodeos, horse and livestock shows as well as the many other events held at the Expo. Those staying at the park don’t need to worry about parking, where to sleep or where to take a quick break after a busy day at the EXPO as your RV is just a short walk away. The close proximity also offers a great venue for RV clubs and RV rallies to host meetings and gatherings at EXPO facilities and meeting rooms.

So come on out to S.O. RV Park!

My wife and I were only going to stay for one night, and ended up staying 5. The park is well manicured, and has a beautiful creek going through it. It's close to town, but still feels out of the way. There is a great picnic table and fire pit at each site. Firewood is available for purchase at the office. The showers leave something to be desired, they are not super clean, and they are cold. concrete rooms. However, the water is hot, and the pressure is pretty good, the rooms are private and they are conveniently located throughout the park. The staff is very friendly and the wifi is screaming fast. It was $38/night for a regular spot, plus $6 for an extra vehicle in Feb. 2018. We will definitely be back!

We stayed one night and will be back for a longer stay shortly. Very clean park. Nice dog park. Walking path around the area. Close to bike path. Spaces are asphalt. The big rig site was long enough to leave our tow vehicle connected. Restrooms and showers were pretty clean. I accessed in the morning so they may not have been cleaned from the previous day. A small trash can in the showers would allow for the user to clean hair from the drain and dispose of other items. Rate $40/ day.

One of the nicest, newest RV parks in the Rogue Valley. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. All restroom and shower facilities are clean and conveniently located throughout the park. There is a great dog park, walking trails around the ponds and convenient access to town for any needs that may arise. A hidden gem of the Rogue Valley and favorably priced!

Wonderful staff, clean lockable showers with plenty of hot water. Tidy bathrooms (a bit cold). Dog park (could use a tree or bush). Spots are good sized with various angles so you can get yr head higher than your feet without jacks;) free WiFi with ok speeds. Each spot has a small patch of grass and picnic table. Ice cream and drinks available in the office.
