My concerns with Sportsfans is mostly the attitude of the servers. One day the service is friendly and excellent, the next several times they're rude, not attentive, or they're paying more attention to the regulars and not new customers. Food has always been tasty, but the price for the amount of some things is off. Customers want to feel like they're getting what they pay for. Nachos with real cheese... Was good. However it's a great place to watch sports. Plenty of TVs to find your game on.
I remember going to Sports Fans all the way back in high school pretty much 20 years ago, gosh I'm old now. This is yet another long-standing Bettendorf institution I hadn't been back to visit since moving back to the area about two years ago. After spending some time in the Village of East Davenport, I was still hungry and very awake, so I decided to stop by on the way home. Oh my god...this was not the time to stop by Sports Fans. I don't think I'd seen this place as full as this any other time I'd visit. Literally every table was full and there were no seats at the bar. And the place was LOUD. Fortunately, two people got up from the bar and I was able to get a seat within 5 minutes of entering. There's not much to say about the decor or furniture of the space. It is filled with televisions all throughout the dining area, all playing sports of some type. I was mostly looking at stuff on my phone and occasionally looking up at the TVs and I swear one of them changed games four times. I swear, it started with hockey, turned to basketball, then to wrestling...I wasn't here for more than an hour, either... At any rate, I opted to get a single sized pizza about 9" in diameter with pepperoni and sausage. Even though Sports Fans was busy, I still got my pizza in 30 minutes and the bartender refilled my soda multiple times as it got low. I had either forgotten or didn't realize that the pizza here is made to Quad Cities style. You know, the crust with the malty flavor, cut in strips, with sauce that's got red pepper flake and cayenne pepper, and crumbly, greasy sausage? Yeah, that pizza...I'm not normally a fan, but this Quad Cities pizza I enjoyed. I would still not get sausage on one of these pizzas in the future. WAAAAY too much grease - soggies up the crust something fierce. I'd come back to Sports Fans, just not during peak hours. It was a bit loud for me. I enjoyed the space and the pizza I had on my last trip. Thanks Sports Fans! Vegetarian options: You can definitely get a pizza without meat toppings on it. Kid-friendliness: There were families with children in the space when I visited. It was a little loud at this particular time, so maybe don't bring your kids during peak hours? Parking: There's parking available behind the restaurant building. It fills up fast, though.
Unfortunately, the pizza we just had delivered was overdone, see photo. We were hoping to add this to our rotation of Quad City Style pizza places but I'm shocked they let this go out the door. A large, almost $30 pizza, should under no circumstances arrive at the customer like this. The manager needs to make sure they don't let pizzas like this get delivered.
I’ve been coming here for 30+ years. This place has gone down hill big time. Horribly small portions for what the cost of their food is. Looks like one of the employees got hungry before I picked up my order. Shame on this place. Never again.
This place just isn’t what it used to be. Used to be the Go to sports bar but not anymore. They struggle, everyone seems stressed and most of the time they don’t have the game on you are looking for . I’ll find somewhere else to start going. Way better options.
Large menu, which would upset Gordon Ramsey, but it seems like everything is great! The pizza was fantastic. Good cheese, good qc style sausage, good crust, and the sauce... wow. One of the best I've tasted on the Herby spicy sauce. I'll have to go back again because I want to try everything.
Fantastic quad City style Pizza! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because not to their fault, sometimes you have to wait a bit longer than other places. But I'll tell you what if your patient and really recommend this place. I'm old school, I like the standard sausage pizza, but I haven't had a bad experience with them, and definitely check out their specialty pieces. Like a wise man once said.. they are just simply Dynomite!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I could give this a 3 1/2 Star Rating because 3 is too low and 4 is too high for the one thing that stands out with me and among others I'm sure. The food is great. Awesome wraps, pizza, etc.But on this day I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad. Awesome and plenty to take home for the next day. Once again like many places, it is when the bill came. I can't remember if it was $1.25 or $1.50 but for saving grace, let's say $1.25. For my cup of Bleu Cheese Dressing! Shouldn't that be included? I just paid it as I have become tired of establishments nickle and dimeing on things like this. I get my satisfaction on instead of I'll be back next week or next month, maybe I'll be back in 3-6 months. Not everyone but I believe things like that $1.25 assist a business on losing a customer. Remember, it was a Salad! Great food though!
It was our first time at Sports Fans Pizza on Sunday night and our waitress asked for our drink order and we didn’t have menus to see what they offered. She had a bit of an attitude and we explained it’s our first time here. We ordered drinks and our drinks were brought with food menus. At this time, most tables were done and patrons were leaving. We placed our order for nachos and 3 taco special at 7:30pm and around 8:00pm our waitress came to us stating the kitchen lost our order slip and was making our food now. It’s now a bit past 8:30 and we decided, let’s go and waved her over to get our drink tab. She said “your food is ready and at the window” with attitude. We still declined and she repeated “your food is ready” and he repeated himself, “no we want the drink tab”. She was rude when brining our bill, we paid and left. Wished we’d read the reviews of poor service/rude staff prior to going there. Lesson learned and will never go back.
Busy place every time I’m here but great waitresses that are attentive and get you taken care of. Food is great!! Every time. No complaints, ever. Great pizza but you won’t be disappointed with any of their food. Definitely recommend
