I called their emergency room nurse with an urgent question about my 8 month old and was told they didn’t accept my health plan so I would need to find someone else to help me and good luck. Literally that was all they said. What kind of emergency room does that??? No references to who may be able to help, no answer about my baby NOTHING just we can’t help you good luck. I called at 2am because this emergency room is right by my house and I just moved to Wisconsin THIS WEEK. I’m in utter shock at the horrible service and lack of empathy.

Horrible service! My husband was seen here this morning by Dr. Halberg who advised him he was super contagious and should not go to work today.  He was given a note to be excused until Friday.  After filing a claim with Prudential they would not sign papers.  Frustrated my husband calls back the emergency room and spoke to Nurse Angie who stated they will not sign paper work because it can be fraudulent.  Wait what??? My husband is not a fraud and would have gone to work if the doctor did not say he was super contagious.  She then said they will get a note to allow him to return to work tomorrow.   Dr Angie who was super unprofessional said to my husband that it was his choice to go see them after he stated they wasted his time today.  If anyone had a choice, please do not go here.  They will waste your time and say it's your choice.  How do you diagnose someone as contagious and then the same day say they are not contagious and send them to work to infect everyone else?  Isn't this malpractice?  How are you a doctor when you lie like this..oh you're really sick and you can get others sick, stay home and don't go to work..wait, I don't want to sign papers, you are no longer sick...go and infect everyone else?  In my eyes the doctors here are frauds.  My husband lost his voice has been coughing for weeks but it doesn't matter to them, they don't have to do their job.  He will just go back to work and get every sick, cause the doctor says to do so.

BEWARE Emergency Surgeon Staffing does NOT work with most healthcare plans.  I have been here twice now with two different health plans in the last year.  First time was with Aetna with a 97% coverage.  It took care off all the facility expenses but I got a separate bill from an emergency surgeon service that staffs the center that was not covered by my insurance for almost $2000 dollars.  Now just recently I had to go there again for my daughter with Blue Cross Blue Shield with an even better coverage and guess what I just got sent another $1200 bill from that same separate staffing agency telling me they do not work with BCBS....  Very disappointed in the way SSM Health staffs this emergency center.  I guess I will have to run all the way to the hospital from now on, emergency or not.

This place is phenomenal!!  The staff there are so nice and helpful and explain everything!  They helped me learn about my medical condition and got me the appropriate follow up.  I was in a true emergency and used the emergency room as they were meant to be used for.
