Wonderful historic train ride through the beautiful bluffs along the St. Croix Valley. Your staff was very helpful and patient with the large crowds. A must do event for Fall colors viewing by anyone. Only suggestion would be to have a family friendly train car and a separate train car for riders that want to enjoy the ride even more. Had one family in our car that allowed their three small children to run up and down the aisle screaming the entire trip. Very rude. But would recommend this event to all.

The train ride was beautiful n the fall, and the food was great. The opportunity to ride in a real 1940s dining car was a treat. The staff were very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, several of them were also a little rude. Also, the parking facilities need improving. As we arrived, a staff member with an enormous beard shooed us into a parking lot that was a good thousand feet from the depot--all of it uphill. When I pointed out to him that my wife was handicapped, he just grunted, "The other lot is full," no apology, nothing. After we climbed up to the depot, with difficulty, we complained about this to the staff member at the window--again, no apology, just a shrug. The area where we were to wait for the dining car had no benches--we had to stand. As the conductor unlatched the gate and we started to step forward, he shooed us back--and called us "troublemakers" Then, apparently to "punish" us, he made sure that we were the last ones to board--my wife had to stand there with her cane and her cast while everyone else got on and got seated. This should have been an enjoyable experience for us, and it was ruined by a few arrogant staff members. I wanted to give this five starts, but I can only give it 3 because of this.

Great fun for the whole family! From the moment they yelled, "All Aboard" and punched our tickets we knew it was going to be a fun trip. The ride to St Croix Marina was beautiful and exploring the train along the way really brought perspective to how travel has progressed throughout the many years. Staff was knowledgeable and eagerly answered all questions, colorfully painting pictures in our minds of what it would have been like even getting mail before all our current technology. The train even stopped to retrieve a dropped stuffed animal from a very small passenger, which really shows how much they care about each person that visits. Highly recommend!!

Took the train ride from the original SOO Line depot. Cars are original passenger era cars. Great scenic views of the river and forest. Recommend you go in Fall. The colors were awesome! Very friendly staff.
