We are a military family - active duty and retried. Our son, a military veteran bought work boots (~$190.00) from Midwest Boots, Eau Claire, WI. The boots he received were faulty (severing soles) and he returned them for a replacement. Since he lives in HI he had to pay shipping charges 3 times (for a total of ~$90.00). The first time he placed the order, the second time he had to return the faulty boots and the third time he received the replacement. While the firm's shipping and return policy have correctly stated the shipping charges have to be covered by the customer, in case of a product fault it is incomprehensible why the customer should pay shipping charges for product return and/or replacement. The manager we talked to twice (Matt, who claimed to be the owner) was unwilling to compromise in any way. We would give "0" stars as rating if we could. 
As for our military community we strongly recommend to stay away from this firm! Spread the word!

Purchased a pair of Reebok steel toes, had them less than a week before the sole came apart. Pd to have the shoes returned and was told AFTER the fact that I would not be reimbursed for shipping. Glad I didn't exchange the shoes, Never will I order from Midwest Boots (Steel-Toe-Shoes) again... The Company deserves a zero star rating!!!

I wish I had and like many reviews online research this company before I bought boots from them. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I bought thorogood boots from them and I've worn this brand of boots for years and never had any issues. I got
The boots put my foot in and the were extremely uncomfortable, the safety toe was bitting into my foot. Thorogood boots are known for good quality and these boots were secound hand made like they buy their defected boots and turn around and sell them to us. I contacted them the next day. After going back and fourth they told me I would receive a shipping label to return the boots for a refund. I filled out the form and waited. After few days I contacted them. I was told that they had changed their company policy and shipping labels are only sent out for exchanges I was told that my application was reviewed and denied.! I called them up and spoke to the owner who was extremely rude and he was the one emailing me the wrong info.I asked them did my shipping label request made your company change their policy? I tried unsuccessfully to get them to make a exception they were really rude and unprofessional.Basically they wanted me to Exchange the boots not give me a refund. After reading reviews online I doubt I will
Get my money back since they seem to find any excuse to not give you a refund. I just send the boots back today let's see what happens.  
Save yourself the grief and don't bother doing Busniess with this Company by far the worst.

First Off, I would give 0 stars if it was an option.  
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
I ordered a pair of boots, tried ONE boot on over carpet, (It never touched the ground) realized it was way to small, so i took it off and put the ONE boot back in the box.  I contacted the company and they told me to fill out the form and they would email me a return label.  After about two weeks of waiting for the email that never came, I went to the site and printed up the form, filled it out, asked for an exchange (Same boots, just a larger size) took the package to a UPS store, paid for the shipping back to them and sent it off.  No contact at all from them, and about two weeks later I got the same box back with a note that said refund/exchange refused due to scuffing and (a coupon for $20 off if I spend $100 or more). 
I called their customer service the next day, and they weren't willing to help in any way.  They told me they took pictures of the shoes and that there were rocks in the sole, and heavy scuffing on top. So my word against theirs. 
I don't see how that could have been possible since only one shoe was taken out of the box and it was never even placed on the ground.  
Long story short, I'm out $130 bucks and stuck with a pair of boots that don't fit.
