Story

Stevens Funeral Home, formerly known as Bethany Funeral Home, was established in 1980 by Thurman Duncan to serve the Lovington community. Chris and Wanda Stevens, along with Danny Funchess, purchased the local home in 2001. Bethany Funeral Home was then renamed the Stevens-Funchess Funeral Home. Later, in 2008, Stevens Funeral Home was purchased by Legacy Funeral Group. Chris Stevens remained in Lovington and continued managing Stevens Funeral Home. In 2012, the Stevens decided to move closer to family and friends. Stevens Funeral Home is currently under the management of Craig Schatz.

The Legacy of Stevens Funeral Home continues a heritage of service for Southeastern New Mexico. Stevens Funeral Home is a part of the Lovington Community that is structured to serve the community in a fashion that is dependable, respectful, honest, compassionate, and professional.

We appreciate this is a difficult time for you and will do everything in our power to reassure you that all arrangements are in hand.We will provide advice at every stage of the funeral planning process. We also offer Choice Funeral Plans which enable you to record your personal wishes and pay towards your funeral in advance, which could provide peace of mind to you and your family."

Excellent service .Nearly 33 years ago they did the best funeral ever for my brother who sadly died at the age of 25 years . So when I wanted my brothers head stone renovated of course I turned to them. They were very so easy to contact love that they have modern ways to make contact  the result of a few messages from me meant my much loved and  missed brother has again got a memorial stone that we are proud of again. Everyone in our family are super happy with the work. I would recommend this team to take care of your loved one's. Thank you again  Much love Dawn McGilvray

Honestly can't speak highly enough of kemp and Stevens. Micheal thorn is just one in million he is just so caring and understanding at my lowest point he made my dads funeral arrangements easy and so much more bearable with his kindness and caring manor. Thank you Michael so much you really are a special kind person. Every little touch was just so personal. Would highly recommend him.

Robin Thorne and his father and staff were extremely professional and handled the day sensitively with genuine care for their clients. Very safe hands at a difficult and vulnerable time for my mother.

No vicar involved just us reading about him with favourite songs of his playing. We even had a rock and roll dance! Sadness and laughter thanks to you allowing us the freedom.
