I hired Stillwater to build spec houses for me... we met at the lot i had.. we discussed what was to be done.. i was assured they could and would do it.. i paid them to draw up and finalize detailed plans for the build..between the start and the finish a 90,000 $ build was suddenly 108,000 and i was told to expect even more cost overruns and that they couldn't guarantee a single number from their perspective... BUT.. the first thing i noticed that had gone up was their fee.. which went from 11,000$ to 13,000$   for no reason that they could give that made sense... when i asked them to qualify the numbers to me the wife of Darren got involved and told me she had "paralegal" experience and handled all their contracts.. seems like practicing law without a license but whatever... the problem became out of hand when she insisted that somehow i was accusing her of being shady...lol   I'm not sure when a negotiation becomes emotional but that was where she went w it.. and so we parted ways as they said they couldn't work w me...  i already had financing in place and had spent a ton of $ w them at the point so it was like being left at the alter.. w no recourse.. so now instead of a timely build which was to be more than a few houses ..became a lame duck project ! I cannot say that this team is a team you want to deal with ..unless you like emotional responses over business responses...  never have I ever dealt with such an unprofessional low balling half A#$% company before.. they drug their feet all the way through and were soooo slow in every aspect and required me to email them for progress reports as their communication is beyond missing... if you have money..      and do business... don't saddle yourself with second rate construction efforts with this duo... you won't like the result! theyre probably ok if you just need a deck out back...lol when i asked a more reputable contractor about them .. he was like .."isnt he a house inspector or handy man?"   shoulda paid attention to the 3 star rating..!   too little too late.. BUYER BEWARE!
