Story

Storyville Cinema has been operated under same ownership since March of 2005. We are pleased to bring first run film on the national break to Chaffee County, and would like to continue to do so. However with the industry change to digital projection, eliminating our current format of 35mm film, time is running out for us. Please stay tuned as to our fund raising efforts in addition to a grant we have been approved for in November of 2013. We hope to convert at least one of our screens. Thank you for your continued patronage.

Great place to enjoy a movie. Mostly first run films. At award season the theatre shows most of the movies that are vying for the big awards. Adult beverages available, as well! Reasonable ticket prices. All in historic downtown Salida, CO. I've been a satisfied patron for years.

For serious old school theater, this is it. Thank goodness they sell beer and wine. Auditorium is small so arrive early for Best seats. Reminded me of childhood cinema in small-town Oklahoma. Will go again.

A quaint little movie theater. The staff is always helpful and good natured. A terrific neighborhood venue that is a welcome alternative to the contemporary mega-plex.

Went back again to watch the new star wars....AGAIN! Such a pleasant little place to hangout, especially if you are unfamiliar with the Salida area. There's usually only one movie showing so make sure you check it out beforehand!

Their process for selling movie tickets is STUPID. They really need to come up with a way to sell tickets in advance, especially for really popular movies like Star Wars. Having people wait outside in the cold for 45 minutes in advance is a little silly. They also need to learn how to answer their phones/respond to customer emails. The fact thay we had to drive nearly 40 minutes just to find out they were sold out and only sell tickets day of is ridiculous. Unfortunately it's the only theatre within a reasonable distance. 😒
