A wonderful dinner experience! Great service,  even better food! I particularly love the lobster bisque one of the best I’ve had and after speaking with the owner I know it doesn’t come from “a can”. All the food is amazing every time and my family and I go often!

Good food. Cool atmosphere. Stick to the home cooked menu. Lobster bisque was from a can, or mix and not necessary to be offered at a place that has a great menu already.

This is my most favorite place for breakfast. It's their home fries! Love, love, love them. They use their own seasoning (nicely garlicky) and they come in big chunks of yumminess. Also love when seedless blackberry jam is available for your toast. Good coffee and, umm, of course, the best donuts anywhere! Fun service, quirky decor and daily question for a free donut. It's small, cozy and soon to be your favorite, too.

I read one reviewer complain that the Stownut is a "little small". I found the size added to the experience. Today I visit new, cavernous,  high ceilings, and echoing restaurants, I prefer a more local intimate place. One of our favorite local breakfast places closed it doors two months ago. My family has been in search of new place. I ordered the corn beef hash. The waitress said the corn beef was made there. It was flavorful. The potatoes impressed me as well. Big chunks of potato in a hash usually means under cooked potatoes. Or if they par cook them too much before frying they fall apart. Stownut's potatoes are neither. Crispy, held together, and creamy. Eggs were prepared to my liking. And a good amount of butter on the toast. Great start. My wife had the biscuits and gravy. Not bad  but the gravy needs some more of something. Maybe under seasoned.  Service was good. I enjoyed looking at all the dishes that were coming out for other customers. I am trying lunch next.  I have lived in this area my entire life. I have visited most of the local restaurants in Summit and Portage and never knew Stownut was there. A pleasant surprise.
