Story

Sugar Shack Donuts is a small batch donut shop founded right here in Virginia. We hand make all of our donuts 25 at a time, use only fresh fruits in our glazes, jellies, and fritters, and even roast our own coffee each week at our facility in Richmond, VA. We pride ourselves in craft made products and being a part of each community we join.

Nice redo of this space! Donut and coffee selections are good. Cake and yeast for all taste buds. Donistas will explain all the available offerings in the case!! Update 7/30/3017 - My new favorite is the peanut butter donut with whole milk....okay, the cinnamon and coconut are really good too....LOL!

I can only say...how many stars is it to describe this. I went to order a donut cake 7 days prior (we didn't want to take risks that it was not enough time to be done) for my daughters birthday since our plan was to wake our little girl up on her birthday which is the next day from today, and today I was going to collect the donut cake that I needed. They told me that they did not do it and said "Can you come back tomorrow?" OMG!! Thanks to some employees, I will have to return at 6:00 am for a Donut Cake I ordered ONE WEEK AGO and they did not even have it ready. I asked if they could put her name on the Donut and they said NO!! We are not the richmond store!! After her response, I looked for a place to decorate the donut cake! Now I will not be able to decorate whit her name, and maybe not even the donut cake for which I paid for 7 days ago all because they told me that they didn't bake the donut cake yet.

They must be known for their coffee (I don't drink coffee) because the donuts were just average tasting. The filled donut (last time) just had what tasted like a (vanilla?) pudding in it and my husband asked this time. When I asked the gentleman making the coffee if they had someone to clean the tables, he hesitated before he answered, "Ah, yeah, I'll get them." He finished with his coffee customers and started to collect empty containers. My husband was now at the front of the line (we were at the door), I walked over to him, looked at him and said "please". He said, "I was just finishing my coffees". He took a wipe at the tables, but they were still dirty. I don't understand why keeping the inside (or outside) tables clean for your customers a priority. This was our third time there. The first time was great, it was busy and the service was with a smile. I wonder what changed. They didn't seem happy to be employed there this morning.

Another place that deserves 10 stars! Donuts are so amazing, and coffee is delicious. Spread the word! Good staff too! :)

Doughnuts were good but, trash cans were overflowing, milk and cream containers were empty, yet there were employees standing around. The establishment located here prior was a much nicer and comfortable place to visit.
