Love this place. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I had an issue with my new wetsuit, and they addressed the issue without question exceeding my expectations. Highly recommend :)

Look no further, this is the freshwater Surf and SUP shop you've been looking for! The crew at Surf Ontario are super welcoming and they all know their stuff. No matter if your just starting or are an experienced rider, they are super friendly and can provide you with a great wealth of knowledge. To be honest, the first time I heard about Surf Ontario and went out to visit the shop I was skeptical about the whole surfing on the Great Lakes idea. My own preconceived notions about where it was possible to surf fueled my skepticism. After that first visit I left interested in the prospect of surfing on the Great Lakes, but I thought to myself, "Could this be for real?". Ever since I can remember I was naturally interested in surfing since I had grown up skateboarding and snowboarding and loved all things boarding. I never seriously thought I would have the opportunity surf regularly, aside from the odd times on vacation where I could rent some gear and mess around in the Ocean. The Great Lakes were something I generally ignored growing up in Ontario, and I viewed them as primarily a resource for fresh drinking water and not much else. I think a lot of people in the region perceive them in this way as well, which is evidenced by the trend of locals regularly travelling to much smaller lakes in the northern regions of Ontario to put in some water time. Fast forward to a little over one year after my first visit, the skepticism I had is gone and I find myself completely consumed by my newfound passion for freshwater Surf and SUP. I SUPed all Spring and Summer, and surfed any chance I had. Going into my first Fall surfing on the Greats has shown me the potential they have for amazing surf experiences. I never thought I would surf in the Winter, but my perception of what is possibly is changing rapidly. If I had not learned about Surf Ontario and the rich history of Great Lakes surfing I would never have discovered the immensely satisfying potential for surf at home. To say the least, my perspective of the Greats and what they offer has expanded to something new and more exciting than I previously thought possible. I ordered a wetsuit for my son's birthday and unfortunately they did not have it in stock. Kristen got in touch with me right away and found an excellent replacement. She was emailing me at 10:30pm to ensure I got what I needed and when I needed it. Amazing customer service! Their prices are excellent too.

Above and beyond customer service. Wanted to buy two little surf accessories from Surf Ontario, and Mike went above the call of duty to get the best cost for shipping all the way to California from Ontario. For such a small order, he certainly didn't have to, and I greatly appreciate that he did. Thanks Mike!
