Love the decor! Food is amazing. Somewhat pricey. Great place for special occasion on a small scale. Open at 11am good lunch place too.

It is the opinion of my husband and myself that this restaurant is vastly overrated. After being recommended by acquaintances, we chose to try it. We are both very fond of Italian food, and have experienced some of the best. Sadly Sweet Basil Bistro did not come close to our expectations. We ordered the lobster lasagna. It was a tiny portion, and only slightly warm (as though just reheated), with barely a hint of lobster. The salad was only fair, and the service less than optimal. The meal was rather pricy for such substandard quality. As we are building a home in Big bear city, we may decide to give this restaurant one more try, however not at all sure our opinion will change.

I went to the restaurant at 4 pm on a Friday with 3 of my children. One is vegan. They were very helpful and the service was great. The food was amazing. I had the lobster lasagna which I highly recommend. My son had the salmon and orzo and loved that as well. My daughters enjoyed their salad and quinoa dishes. Even though they were preparing to cater a large the party, the service was perfect. It was the high point of the day, though only figuratively since we also climbed Grey's Peak and Castle Rock. Sweet Basil helped to make for a perfect day trip.

The hostess rudely told us that people were waiting for our table when I hadn’t finished my coffee and we were barely there an hour; and with a half full restaurant. After great service, decent food and spending over $100 for my wife, my 2 year old and I, a fine evening became a disappointment.

Great food, great ambience, great romantic location in the middle of the woods, and great service. One night of the week take a drive up to big bear get a room and take ur love one to taste some of the most ravishing Italian imported flavors that won’t compare to anything in or out of these woods. The lemon olive chicken is rediculous, the tender juicy breast marinated with a out of the ordinary lemon olive flavor which was mellow casual but with an exotic flavor. Makes my mouth water thinking about it... I’ll be back, and yes I will bring the munchies.
