Great family owned lunch breakfast spot in the area. We often go there for lunch sandwich and staff are always super friendly. They also do great breakfast and smoothies!

San Francisco is a shadow of it's former self. Where restaurants and cafe's used to have lines at lunchtime, now the few surviving places have to fight for the few patrons that are still left. Sweet Joanna's Cafe is a small restaurant that serves sandwiches and sweet treats at Breakfast and lunch time in San Francisco. I have happened in there several times when I was in the area, but the last time I was there I witnessed the owner's generosity as I never had before. There was a homeless person there with only $8 to his name, and wanted to buy some food from the menu. When his food was served to him by the owner, the owner told him to keep his money and take the food. With the restaurant having to fight for paying patrons, this act of generosity showed me that for the owner of Sweet Joanna's, it's not always about profit, sometimes it's about people. When you are in the area, I recommend that you patronize this establishment, the food is good and fresh, and the staff and owner has heart that is rarely experienced these days.

Great breakfast and lunch spot. Most of the baked good are made in house. The two beautiful ladies behind the counter make each order as if they are feeding their family in their kitchen. Great portions. Fresh and tasty ingredients. They also cater!

Great location and cozy atmosphere !!healthy tasty food and drinks.  I ordered Turmeric Matcha Latte, it was the best latte I had.  I also ordered falafel sandwich it was tasty and delicious.  In addition to friendly staffs!!

Great local place across from Starbucks. The owner makes a great espresso and their sandwiches are top notch. I am glad to see this place still open with so many local places downtown shuttering. I highly recommend it for a coffee, bagel, and/or sandwich.

Staff were amazing. Owner and family members were obviously part of the staff.  I almost gave five stars on that alone.  Coffee is excellent.  I wasn't enamored with the menu. There wasn't flexibility in offerings but the choices were plentiful.  I'm not a fan of a lot of bread and the menu was carb heavy. I would visit again.

Extremely tidy place with some amazing options for coffee, breakfast and sandwiches. Loved the coffee! ordered Hot Mocha and it's relatively cheaper than a Starbucks coffee with a much better tasting flavor. Staff is super friendly and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENEDED.  *P.S - If you can pay with cash for your order that would help the business so it saves some extra bucks for them. I'm glad the pandemic didn't shuttered this business permanently.

Great all around. Great quality of ingredients and extremely friendly owners. Definitely try the glazed donut grilled cheese with egg and bacon only other time I've found this sandwich was at a minor league baseball stadium so it's worth a try being so unique.

Shame that when you search google for coffee shops this place is completely absent. Great menu of both food and drinks, made fresh and delicious.
