Let me start with the building from the outside you would think the place inside would be rundown and old but that is far from the case. Inside was clean and the seating was very comfortable. Let's get to the food You will have two menus built into one and let me go into that. The first menu, which has a green border, is American style Chinese affair so familiar tastes with nothing to extreme for an American. My wife and daughter ordered from this section of the menu and the food they got was indeed very good. The second menu, which has a red border, is actual traditional Chinese versions of many of the same dishes. This isn't for beginners or people used to the American style Chinese. The flavors and tastes you will experience as well as the addional ingredients not found in the American style would be very difficult for someone who hasn't tried true Chinese style cooking. This was the menu I selected from and indeed it's very traditional indeed. The soup I had was spiced very nicely and was very heavy on oil which I like. As you can see in my photo the bowl is very large and it would be best shared instead of by a single individual but you will have a solid two meals if you order it for just yourself. The quality was excellent and the flavor was on point. Word of caution to those who go the traditional style and haven't before. The broth is spicy and the oil is heavy your body will experience cramping, flatulence and a runny stool if you body isn't used to it so start slow if it's your first time. Even for someone like me who has had many of this authentic food it still got to me a bit but for someone new prepare yourself for that to occur if you consume and entire meal. Overall this is a fantastic place and you will not be disappointed no matter if you go the American style Chinese or the traditional style. Kid-friendliness: No issues bringing the kids Parking: They have no parking lot so it's all on street parking. Depending on when you go it will either be easy to find parking or hard and if you go before 6pm you will have to pay to park as well
So my daughter and I went here because she wanted real Asian food we ended up here after three different restaurants we decided let’s give it one more try BABYYYY I’m so glad we did this place was so good. The food was so big we had to take most of it home they give you helpings for an entire family of 4 in just one serving REFER TO PICS. The taste was amazing I love when restaurants know how to flavor their food we thought we would have to ask for salt and pepper cause none were on the table but no it was amazing. I mean every single bite was a different flavor. The broth was just BROTHING as my daughter says. Then my triple delight was delicious and once again we had to share it was super big WORTH THE PRICE‼‼‼ we also had fried vegetable dumplings they were green I’m like oh yea this is a good sign we tried them and immediately your taste buds will thank you. Nothing we ordered came with any complaints and I’m sure we will return ASAP the price came to 56.83 we didn’t get drinks because we actually forgot but the water was perfect because it was very very spicy just how we like it so the water hit the spot. JUST GO STOP READING REVIEWS AND SEE FOR YOURSELF YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED‼
This is the first time we have been to this place. Very spacious and you can sit wherever you feel like. We ordered Szechuan Double Delight from Chef's Specialties and Eggplant with chicken. It had good taste and flavor. In the menu, it has listed as Hot. If you like spicy and hot, then it's not that spicy. Overall, like this place, like the food. I will visit again.
Consistently excellent. The chicken is very high quality! I highly recommend the Chongqing chicken spicy and the sesame chicken - a good combination of Szechuan & American Chinese dishes. Chengdu chicken, lo mein, egg rolls, dumplings, and crab rangoons are all very good. Great delivery experiences. Overall, a little pricey, but absolutely worth it.
Been looking for a good Szechuan restaurant here in Pittsburgh. I've had 3 places - this is my #2 favorite. Very good! Pick up alcohol from giant eagle next door
My husband & I love this place! We'd driven by countless times but never stopped until we recently wanted Chinese food. This place was great! Large portions, flavorful food & good service. Takeout orders have also been delicious & hot. The chicken fried rice & pepper chicken are my favorites!
I love this place. Every meal is as good as the last. I bring visitors here for their delicious food, and it nursed my spouse back to health during a wicked hangover. The service is fast, food is hot, never overdone. I crave their tofu vegetable soup. Always a seat, very reasonable. I'm so happy to have them close by!
I got take out from Szechuan spice this evening, I can say I'm thoroughly impressed, the food came way faster than expected! Everything was delicious, they also tossed in a small sample of a seaweed dish. My mortal enemy is being white girl spicied, and ordering this top of the spice scale while getting something that isn't hot, but without a spice scale I can say that they absolutely brought the heat on their mapo tofu and Dan Dan noodles! The delivery driver was super kind, and called when he had the wrong door of my apartment building. Overall it was a great experience!
Love this place. We keep coming back. Food is a tad on the more expensive side of Chinese restaurants, but they have an authenticity that is just lacking in the most common Chinese take-out places. Some dishes that we highly recommend: - shredded beef with hot pepper - double sauteed pork - Singapore mein fun. - beef with bamboo forgot the actual name of dish - beef trip and tongue in chili oil Honestly, don't know if I ever ran into a dish I didn't like from here. We kept coming back to this place when we first came to Pittsburgh like a month ago and always have to stop ourselves so we can try other places haha. The other thing about this place is that they have lunch specials for about $10. Would highly recommend it. Order from the Szechuan side. They carry a flavor of home for us.
Short hair Chinese are very unfriendly. A person who does not deserve to be paid for services
