I came to pick up some last minute toys for my nephew & twins & my visit was cut short by an extremely rude manager named Theresa, older lady. I was in my work shirt & to say the least I was embarrassed because I ran into 2 clients since it’s a couple days before Christmas, very busy. I told a very friendly employee who was working in the toy section that I was going to put on the shirt and that I would pay for it when I reach the register, I even told him to mention it to one of the registers as a favor to me because I didn’t want to be thought of as a thief, I was a buying customer. He agreed & went to mention it to a cashier who was also really friendly. About 10 minutes later a very entitled Theresa came up to me & told me to remove the shirt because “she couldn’t have that” hahaha as if I was some homeless dude, I had a cart full of toys & clothes. I mentioned what I was doing to basically 2 employees. I tend to kill people with kindness everywhere I go, it was difficult to be friendly to her. But maybe TJ Maxx should give Theresa some store training on how to deal with people in a hectic environment and not talk down to them. I refused to take the shirt off & went to pay for my items. Old Navy, & Ross next door helped me purchase the rest of my clothes & toys. I’m a father & my money is green. She talked to me as if I was child. It really bothered me. I hope she gets the message. You shouldn’t talk down to people And you should always treat your customer with equal respect. & thanks the red flannel was a “steal” for $15.00
