The rolls were awesome, but the service wasn't so great. My friend and I seemed to annoy our waitress with not knowing what we wanted yet. It was our first time there and we weren't sure. Then we were forgotten about to order for a while. Then once we got our appetizers, our waitress comes back asking if we want dessert. We commented about eating our rolls first, that we were still waiting on, and she admitted to forgetting about them. She even added that it got busy and she wasn't paying attention. Why would you tell your customers that? It seemed unprofessional and she was kind of rude the whole time.
It was our first time coming here and we absolutely loved it! They worked with our kid being picky with his food which was amazing! We definitely recommend this place. On top of the great service the food was so good. Definitely recommend the pizza roll it was PHENOMENAL!Food: 5/5
This is my favorite sushi restaurant in SD county. Fantastic food, reasonable pricing, great staff, owner leading from the front! The fried shrimp appetizer is amazing and a super value. All rolls and salads rock! A trusted place any night.
I have had several problems with Tabu recently even though I have been a customer for over 8 years. Recently service and quality control have dropped. The restaurant used to be packed all the time. Now its semi empty. The good part is that there is now more parking. They need to step up their game like in the old days.
I walked in and ordered the salmon shashimi to go. It was excellent. They have the freshest sushi in San Diego County. Put this place on your bucket list if you have never been here. You won't be disappointed. 6 stars! Parking: Few handicap spaces and 2 regular spaces in front of restaurant and several spaces across from it in both directions, as well as a community parking lot adjacent diagonally from the front doors Wheelchair accessibility: Has a double-door entrance and easily can access the bathrooms.
Excellent quality sushi, especially if you are vegetarian. Ask the main chef Tony for vegetarian options off the menu, he is quite creative and offers a lot of variations. Lots of options on the menu for fish connoisseurs, and even some other options like teriyaki bowls, if your friends won’t eat sushi.

The food is good but the service needs some work. The waiters all seem young so I understand maybe they don’t know what to do but the managers and owners should take some initiative to train them. Received some dirty utensils and the floor is sticky
Delicious food, always made fresh to order. Staff members here are consistently friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They've got quite a variety of dishes as well, so regardless of how picky you are, you'll be sure to find something to suit your taste. Sushi, teriyaki, tempura & so much more!
Tony is the best head chef / manager / whatever that I've ever met. I used to always come in here with my ailing grandma and he would go above and beyond to make her laugh and feel welcome. We was crushed when he heard she passed and it was nice to see that she made an impact out in the world. Tony is an amazing chef and found this particular type of truffle oil that makes hamachi sashimi taste so freaking good it melts in your mouth. The fact that there are nearby sushi places that have higher ratings is a joke, as this is the best sushi you can find in East county. The food is absolutely top notch they buy the best of the best fresh fish they can find and the staff is nothing short of incredible. The only tiny little gripe I have is that they use horseradish based "wasabi" instead of the real stuff, but I don't know of any sushi places that do shell out for real wasabi and I doubt regular diners would even be willing to pay for it. If you want good sushi in east county, you can't do better.
