This is a cafe style restaurant. There is seating inside. Owners are super cordial! You are given a restaurant style menu, but you stand in line and order at the register. If you dine in and take a seat, they bring your order to you. I really liked their beef short ribs ramen with a tomato based soup. I asked for light noodles less noodles, and got light noodles!! It had a lot of flavor in a tomato based soup. My party had the Tuna x Tuna rolls, veggie rolls, tempura shrimp rolls, veggie noodles, and beef short rib noodles. Yummmm! We came just after the lunch rush on a Monday. Good time of the day to go! The dining area is narrow with one row of tables, on the other side of the tables were bar stool type seating. Will be dining here again.
The service was great, inside and patio seating available but you have to order inside. The noodles and egg were cold. The toppings were delicious but the broth wasn't very flavorful.
First time trying Hyshinu and I will definitely be going back. I highly recommend the spicy miso ramen ! The place is small and the service is a bit slow, but worth the wait. Everyone was really kind and helpful. Above all, the ramen ingredients were fresh, especially the ginger, and the egg was cooked to perfection. The pork belly style was a thick seared fillet with a good balance of fat and meat. The portion size was more than enough. Hyshinu is the epitomy of a hidden gem , go check it out.
If you like Japanese, here's a great gem of a hidden place you gotta visit! Oh my, their Ramen is so delish! I Loved it loved it! The best veggie ramen I've tasted! Hubby ordered Yellow tail and Spicy Salmon Poke bowl with seaweed salad, oh yeah!!! Since we came in and nobody else was I went inbetween busy time because the last visit it was so crazy busy it took a long time to get my order every sushi place I go takes long to get an order...especially when u have a family order. Since we came in and nobody else was around I figured they could be creative with my order. Look how adorable my husband's order looked! We definitely felt special! My daughter ordered Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. It was delicious, she said! What's also cool is that a friend paid! So worth the visit! If you're in the mood for Japanese, try this humble restaurant! Note: So place your order at the front even if u are Dine in. I made the mistake expecting to have someone take my order....but they did for us anyways!! I felt embarrassed.. LOL, they made us feel special.
This dining experience was a disappointment. Pros: Tonkotsu ramen was decent. It was not the best ramen I have had, but not the worst either. The ramen egg was tasty. The pork belly slices were okay. Broth was okay. Tempura appetizer was good. There are two outside tables if you prefer to eat outside. Lots of parking. Cons: We had to clean our own table. We waited and waited, and no one came to clean the bowls and plates from the previous customers. The waiter later offered us free drinks because we had to clean our own table. It was an empty offer, because we had already paid. There was water flooding on the floor near the cash register. This grossed me out. There was very little customer service. My husband asked for to-go boxes from the waiter. We waited and the to-go boxes never came; my husband had to go inside to get them. I have had better service at a fast food place. We ordered four tonkotsu ramen bowls, two appetizers tempura and jalapeno poppers, and four soda cans. This came out to be almost $90. I would not go back and would not recommend to others.
This location has a 4 1/2 rating and I’m looking for the best of the best ramen broth in San Diego. First try today Tonkotsu ramen broth simple nothing to say oh yeah but simple. Pork fried like bacon and on top of the teriyaki favor add to the pork not really good for me! The kitchen staff confused and super slow food got cold sitting on the counter. I needed to get it myself or it would not come to me. Other hand food is cheap on the pockets $9.99 Spicy miso Ramen with beef really nasty I can’t explain this any other way if you think about miso and you’ve had miso before miso is a very delicious soup broth. This has no flavor of miso whatsoever but yet it is called spicy miso the moment that I wanted to taste it all I got was a mouth full of peppers and water I felt like I was getting pepper sprayed. The beef is Fried and teriyaki flavoring used on top of the beef as well put into the soup not my cup of tea. Will even chop it up maybe it was just not the right night for this restaurant as stated earlier Stafford confused everything was running real slow but that’s not enough to make me wanna go back for seconds!
My first time ordering from here grubhub. The spicy miso broth was excellent, even better than the spot I usually order from. I got the pork with extra egg, super tasty. I'll definitely order from here again. Also the broth was delivered very hot and packaged well.
We eat here frequently because my daughters love the ramen and I love the poke. We had lunch here today and my daughter left her backpack. The good news was that it was still there when she came back for it, with everything in it intact so thank you so much for keeping her backpack until she retrieved it.
I was so excited when I heard they were putting this place in once upon a time and it was more than I could have asked for! Yes, the food is amazing! Yes, you'll want it as much as you can justify Ramen and Sushi in your week!! Yes, you'll want more anyway! Like any art, food has a way of speaking the love, care, and intention that was put into it... It's clear Hyshinu wants to bring us something special, and they do!! I always appreciate an atmosphere that's defined by the excellence of the team because no matter the circumstances, they bring greatness anyway. Hyshinu is clearly dedicated, caring, and thoughtful - everyone here brings a smile, brings hospitality, and they deliver a meal that leaves you feeling loved by the universe after you're done. Maybe I'm dramatic, or maybe it's the dopamine from such amazing food, but even after being full from ramen, sushi, and gyoza... I'm gonna have just one. more. bite!
This is more like 3.5 stars. I got tonkotsu with a spicy ball and pork belly. The noodles were a bit too soft for my liking. Broth was ok. The soft boiled egg was interesting because it was also marinated in what tasted like ponzu.
