I have been going to the Tawas fireworks for 26 years. I started taking my children when they were literally months old. We went this evening with my sister, niece and nephew who moved to S. Carolina several years ago. My sister always bragged to her children how amazing the fireworks were, that the tradition was spending the day at the park, grilling out, swimming, playing on the beach and waiting for the most amazing fireworks in the area. 
Guys, tonight was one of the most disappointing events that I have ever experienced. Tens of thousands of dollars  must have been spent in upgrading the park. More and improved parking, improved beach, concession stand and gazebo. We had a typical great day at the park and then waited for the fireworks. What a let down. Whatever moron planned out this event should be fired. How many cities have this amazing asset, a  park on the water, with concession stand, pier and a great beach and then plan fireworks so far off in the distance that you can not experience the event. You could not hear the fireworks. You could not feel the fire works. They were just a flash of light off in the distance. 
Family after family left long before they were over commenting on how they would never be back. We soon followed. This kids said it best. IT WAS BORING. 
You blew it. Next year the businesses will feel it. This is the type of mistake that will take years to recover from. If you don't have the intelligence within your organization to handle the successful planning of such a large event, then you should at least have the common sense to hire an outside organization that can.

Great staff always looking to help out. Provides lots of things to do and suggestions for things to do in the area.
