We’ve exposed brick walls and wooden ceiling beams; centered one of the largest outdoor seating spaces in the City around a swan fountain; and crowned the coffeehouse with a reclaimed church window. We’ve created The Abbey on Butler Street to give a sense of place, the feeling that you’ve discovered something, right in your own backyard.
There are nooks and open spaces, music, craft coffee, beer and cocktails, small plates and heavy entrees. It’s easy to spend a day, as we’re open from 7am to 2am. We’re awake if you are! We’ve set the scene, so join us in telling a story, whether it’s a daily stop for coffee, dinner by the fountain with family, or happy hour with friends, we welcome you to take rest and delight at The Abbey on Butler Street.
Every day we are crossing and blending boundaries. Collaborating. Tasting. Smelling. Thinking. Bartenders, Baristas, and Cooks…sharing the best of each of their crafts to create the best possible experiences for customers. Renovation and Innovation are the heart of “The Abbey”.
We’ve taken an abandoned church’s rose window and made it into a halo of light that hangs above our coffeehouse – it’s actually our logo. A reinvented space, once a foundry and then a funeral home, now a coffeehouse, pub and bistro, all nestled under one roof. We love architecture and history, we enjoy stopping to listen to stories of old, we work hard to reclaim and reuse, to preserve and make better. This is what we’ve made The Abbey to be – a meeting place of old and new, of friends and coworkers, of regulars and destination seekers. It’s approachable; a place where one can take rest and delight.
