Story

Having garnered many prestigious awards since its opening, The Blue Ox, an upscale casual American restaurant offers traditional dishes in a nontraditional way. Chef/ Owner, Matt O’Neil, a Swampscott native, sources premium ingredients from the top purveyors in the area and presents a unique wine and cocktail list boasting small production wines and local spirits all at a great value to his guests. He brings a little bit of Boston to the North Shore.

Excellent food and service. The bread with maple butter was so good we ate two baskets of it before we even ordered our entrees. The entrees were all outstanding. Our party had a pork dish, two steaks dishes and a pasta dish. Everyone loved their choices and they were cooked exactly as we wanted them. The server was very friendly and made us feel like regulars. He was spot on with his suggestions of both drinks and entrees. We had reservations for 7 pm on a Friday night and were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival. The bar was packed but the noise level was not too loud. Free parking is available in the adjacent bank's parking lot.

One of the best hidden jems in all of Lynn. The drinks are phenomenal. Best tuna tar tar I've ever had. The pork chop on the menu is out of this world especially with their homemade BBQ sauce on the side. Although a bit pricey you will not be disappointed. Closed on Monday.... Made that mistake before.

LOVED this restaurant. Food is absolutely incredible. Delicious vegetarian options and every plate was made to perfection. The staff was super nice and our server made all of our drinks himself, which were fantastic. Wheelchair accessible, hip ambience, great menu. Can't beat it.

Disappointed. Experience tonight was nothing like my first time which was flawless. What really left an impression on me the first time was how the service matched the quality of the food; tonight that was not the case. Servers were far too busy to attend to their tables. We actually saw a server nearly running between tables. Mine neglected to bring the glass of wine I had ordered or the black pepper that I had to request. Love their bread though!
