Story

This is the official Facebook webpage for the Book Barn in Niantic Connecticut. We're an enormous used bookstore with over 500,000 used books. We are chock full of cats, gardens, coffee and an incredibly knowledgeable staff. Please feel free to use this page for store updates and info to any questions you may have. In addition we have our own personal website @ Bookbarnniantic.com.

All four Book Barn stores are open from 9am to 9pm every day of the week. If you're looking to sell us books we buy everyday between the hours of 11am and 6pm. If it's raining, snowing, or in fact, precipitating oddly in any way that may affect the books, give us a call- we may still be buying in small quantities. We buy used books for STORE CREDIT every day, and most days we'll be buying for CHECK, although during the winter we cut back, so GIVE US A CALL to make sure.

Our entire inventory is made up of books that other people, people like you, bring us- so never hesitate to bring us your books. We may not take them, but we'd love to have a look. Hope to see you soon!

This is an awesome place where you could honestly spend hours in. There are lots of cozy reading nooks and kitties to cuddle with. Complimentary snacks and tea/coffee are just the icing on the cake. I’ve taken many people here and found lots of interesting books. The main building is the best but other locations are good too, so it depends on the genre you want to find and you go to that location, all very close to one another. Lots of fun and makes for a good day trip to this area

A bibliomaniac’s paradise.  Four buildings comprise this store’s inventory.  There are two downtown shops and two more if you head a half mile or so south on Hwy 1.  The books are well organized though not like a library.  Organized by topic/genre with subsections within each category.  Each store handles a few different areas (children’s, religion, mythology, fiction, history, etc.) and the store’s are kept clean and easy to shop.

This is a super cool bookstore. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and always helpful. The selection is great. The prices are very reasonable, while at the same time they pay better for books then many other uses book stores. It's a great value either way. I know people who drive hours just to sell and shop there. And there's a goat.

Books, cats, coffee. What more could you want? This is the Mecca of used book stores. They have everything in several locations thought town. The main barn is a magical place with cute gardens, goats, and clever little signs everywhere. A destination.

They have a bunch of books here, and whimsical stuff all around and whatnot. Some of it is outdoors, while the rest is indoors. They have goats, a cat, and a basketball hoop. It's a neat place.
