One of the top 3 bookstores in STL with one caveat--the big lady that owns/runs the shop has zero customer service skills and does not read.    I'd recommend coming back another time if she's at the front desk.  The guy with the British accent working there is an avid reader and really knowledgeable and helpful, however.  Good selection. Some really old books.

This place has anything that a book lover would need. Great selection, and with great organization, without making you feel overwhelmed. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, and understanding. Great place to get books as a gift, or just for yourself

I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted to pick up for holiday gifts, and was overwhelmed with the amount of help the two store employees gave me.  The store was definitely not empty, but I told them what I wanted to do and started looking around.  Both of them provided suggestions and located specific books for me, all while helping other customers as well.  It was an excellent buying experience, and one I hope to repeat frequently!

Huge selection. It's overwhelming but I could be here all day. A little eclectic and not the easiest to find things but a wonderful place to spend a cold afternoon.
