Delicious Coffee, has snacks and breakfast items, Free Wifi, wonderful environment, place for kids to enjoy, indoor and outdoor seating, and friendly staff. The mission statement is "Where Coffee Meets Community" and it definitely delivers on that! I can easily go in, relax, order some wonderful and diverse coffee with a muffin, bagel, or something of the sort. Then go relax on the some of the couches, or get some work done at the many tables. On top of that, it is part of the church building of "The Crossings", so you will get see church staff, including the Pastor, going through and enjoying the same items I do, and will at times strike up conversations with people. At first it was weird that the BreakRoom was only open until 2:00pm on weekdays. But then I thought about it and noticed that they also house events in the space. So, if I were so inclined, I could rent the space to have a birthday party, baby shower, or anniversary party... and of course the same friendly staff. Definitely check it out 10 out of 10 for sure!!!
What a great concept! You can contribute whatever amount you want for your coffee and pastry and proceed go to charity. Great open space, extremely kids friendly. A big enclosed outdoor space that kids can roam around, while the adult and sit back and relax with a cup of coffee. We love this place and highly recommended to all parents with little ones. Cant wait to bring our little ones back here again
This a great little secret within the church property. They have a large lobby with couches or tables and chairs. All the coffee every flavor you can imagine and pastries, and loaves of bread are donation based. There is “suggested pricing” but you pay only what you want. All profits above cost of running the place and materials are donated to local places like women’s shelters and homeless shelters. The girls working there were very knowledgeable about the business practices as well as a great barista. They can do iced or warm and they steam the milk, they have soy, oat, dairy milk. We also got a cinnamon roll and blueberry muffin. They have a large outdoor patio that’s fenced for kids. However the ground is concrete. They have free WiFi as well.
I'm writing this review based off of my first time at The BreakRoom. I went at 12:30pm on a Friday. For context about me, I'm a freelance videographer, and was hoping to find a productive, comfortable environment to be work in for a couple of hours at The BreakRoom. I chose to give this coffee shop 4 out of 5 stars because they meet a good standard of quality, but there are some things I feel like need to be considered for anyone interested in visiting. First, The BreakRoom does not offer wifi for their customers to enjoy- not even for free. I feel like this should be a requirement for any business that gives customers a coffee shop experience, especially if part of their branding encourages an idea of "community" at their location. But I also get the sense that The BreakRoom wants their customers to commune with each other rather than through their phones based on their branding and location vibes. But I digress. Second, The BreakRoom is part of The Crossings Church, and they share a suite in a plaza. So for about 20 minutes, the church's daycare dismissed the kids they were watching, and the coffee shop part filled with screaming kids and a bunch of parents socializing with each other. It was a little distracting. On a bit of a smaller note: The BreakRoom does offer a variety of seating options that can be comfortable, but the majority of the tables have seats that are made from metal and some sort of bamboo material or something Don't judge me too hard. I'm not very knowledgable about interior design, haha.. The point is that after only about 30-minutes or so, my thighs and mid-back were already sore. So overall, I do like The BreakRoom as a coffee shop, but I won't be making another visit with needs to do a lot of work. The BreakRoom is good for socializing with friends and drinking coffee- which is their intention. I'm not trying to bash this business at all. I just want to add a review that's different from the rest- one that's more specific and informative about the little things.
Creamier frappes that I happen to like. Very nice coffee spot, not crowded during the day. Peaceful place to work if looking for something quieter. A handful of pastries, including some vegan options. Big plus for contributing to local charities. Will be back.
What a terrific place. Ordered a coffee on the terms of pay what you believe it is worth. The place is comfy, spacious, and the music was on point, plus at a perfect volume. The whole strip ended up with a power outage due to a vehicle crash with a power pole. I witnessed a large number of people that worked there scramble to ensure everyone was taken care of and devise a game plan. I will surely be back. Great place for bigger meetups. The only recommendation would be some newer chairs for more upright seating, but that's just coming from a picky trainer.
Discovered this place by chance, loved it. Spacious, neat, quiet, and staffs are friendly, drinks are delicious. Wall plugins are available so it is a good place to do work too. Most importantly, part of their profits are going to good causes and charity which is awesome!!
The space is a large open space. It is in the middle of a very forlorn strip mall. We are just passing through, taking in Winter Garden, Mount Dora and Clermont. The two people running the shop were very nice and professional. We tried the decaf and regular drip coffee. Better than diner coffee but not really 5* either. We also shared a banana muffin. Very yummy and unusual. The donation thing is a little hard to understand, but it is a novel concept. Intentions are good, I’m sure. I appreciate that they are operating in a neighborhood with few options for good caffeine!
My first visit and I really liked the atmosphere. Big space, it’s also connected to a church.I definitely got a sense of it being more of a family oriented place which I Loved. I also liked seeing the places that they do outreach posted showing the ways you can help donate or volunteer it you wanted. Overall I would definitely come back!
Love the coffee here and haven't had a bad cup yet. I like their concept and community approach however this is not the place to go if you are looking for a quiet spot to work. There is a daycare attached that empties into the cafe and many kids are running through the dining space and playing loudly. Personally, I can't focus in a cafe like that and it is not a good fit for me and I thought I'd share that so others are aware. That being said, this is a good fit for families.
