Great gym minus the fact that they don’t have curtains, if you try going in the evening you’ll literally be blind during your workout. Can we get curtains? Maybe tint the windows?

Good gym. Excellent prices and value. Club is limited to gym, cardio equipment, and classes mostly. Does not have a gymnasium, courts, or a pool.  Nutrition, fitness counseling, and personal training available.

I came here from Planet Fitness and I can say this is a much better gym. Only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because for the first week or so every day I went it there was some sort of issue or delay regarding my guest pass. They kept trying to charge me when in fact I didn’t have to pay. It was annoying but eventually things smoothed out. It’s also very crowded. Going there after work is a nightmare.

I signed a 12 month agreement paid all my dues each month. Had one lapse in payment because I changed debit cards. Paid my balance plus a late fee I was responsible for because of that. I paid my yearly enhancement fee like everyone else, like it stated in my contract. Then come to find out I have to pay another enhancement fee plus the 13th month outside of my agreement. I agreed to pay a year. Nothing less nothing more, but they got me for a 13 months plus another years enhancement fee. This is just wrong in my opinion. But they threatened me with a collection agency calling me or court if I do not pay these fees outside of my contract so I guess I have no choice. For people joining this gym be careful with the financial company the edge deals with. just a horrible situation because I like the gym and the staff.

The gym itself has a great variety of equipment for people of all fitness levels, and has a decent protein and smoothie drink bar. The main issue with this gym, and it isn't even really the gym itself, is the people who work out there. Hardly anyone wipes off machines, no one puts their weights back properly and they just slam the weights around. Alot of the machines fabrics are ripped and weights are becoming cracked. There's also ALOT of weirdos here too who stare at you blankly, or try to bother you while you're in the middle of a set. The staff is pretty much mixed some are really kind and helpful, and some you can tell tell just hate their lives and don't want to be there. Also, be careful of theft. While my friend and I were spotting eachother on the decline bench during a busy afternoon, someone walked right by and took my buddies shaker cup,  and wrist straps from behind us without us seeing. It's a shame you can't take your eyes off your stuff for a second, so bring as little gear as possible. Of course, it's Meriden so noone should really be surprised.
