I really can't recommend this place enough! Great part of town, amazing staff and a snazzy restaurant located inside. Peter, the doorman has a ton of NYC tips that will make your visit AWESOME!!! Go, and enjoy!! Tell them Juan sent you :)
(But don't tell them I said skip breakfast there and go to Andy's Deli for an egg sandwich)

Location was great! A block from Central Park and the subway. Very convenient. Rooms were pretty basic but well kept and clean. Service was wonderful. Always there and ready to help with anything needed.

Gorgeous hotel lobby and the rooms are pretty decent considering the age. The beds are comfortable and they offer complimentary robes that you can purchase if you'd like. The staff have. Been so friendly and accommodating. When we had our flights cancelled due to weather, the other hotel we stayed at wanted to charge us more than double to stay an extra two night. The Excelsior Hotel did not price gouge us in times of emergency. Even the maintenance guys was super friendly and installed a brand new ow dryer for us when the existing one broke. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the entrance of the Natural History Museum and central park. If staying in NYC this is a must pick Hotel.

The food and drinks were very good. We are very grateful that they could accommodate our party of 15 people for my birthday party, which is very hard to do in NYC for a party that size. They were also able to accommodate for celiac (gluten allergy) and their bread is gluten free and amazing. I would definitely recommend.

Quaint hotel right off the subway line. Right across from the planetarium and natural history museum. Lots of food nearby. Clean room, extra helpful staff and a really nice room. Old world elegance.
