What an amazing find. The food was awesome...they have the best icing on a carrot cake ever! I was told that they all so provide breads and desserts to local resturants..It is a very small place but so worth the wait

Never disappointed here. The bread plate alone is worth the price of admission... between that perfect bread and starting in on my to-go dessert a bit while waiting on the food, I barely had room for a bit of my bruschetta. Not to worry, it all came home with me in a to-go box for later. No service to speak of once your food comes, but to go boxes are readily available and my tea was served in a huge cup, so there was nothing else I needed to enjoy my meal.

I visit the French Pantry fairly often and dearly love their food but had a very disappointing experience when I visited today.  Normally I eat inside the restaurant but placed an order to go today and was not pleased with the boarder-line rude interaction I had with one of the managers.  I asked why they did not provide bread and seasoned dipping olive oil with to go orders as they do when you dine in and was told that it is only part of the dine-in experience. The young lady further explained that they provide a roll with the to go orders instead; however, when I advised that I would rather have the bread and dipping oil, her only response was "understand" and she turned and walked away.  My question is, "if the price warrants me getting the items in the restaurant, why wouldn't I be able to get them to go?"  The price of the meal (in-house or to go) is no different and I also leave a generous tip on both orders.  As a person who deals with customers on a daily basis in an extremely large company, I don't think this is acceptable behavior or good customer service.  Why not, at the very least, give me the option?

There’s some pros and cons to this place but overall it’s awesome. The cakes they make are incredible! In particular the Wedding Cake is utterly amazing for an extremely reasonable price. Don’t believe me? Just try it and you will agree. The bad side is you have to be there early or you will wait outside forever in line. It’s popular to say the least!

Love love love this place. If you’re a foodie, hit up French Pantry, and you will not be disappointed. Hidden gem in Jacksonville, and everything on the menu is superb. Fresh baked bread, all of their bruschetta’s and sandwiches are delicious, and their desserts? Holy moly, such a treat. Odd hours, so make sure you look before you go. It’s a cozy, small place so don’t be surprised when you share tables with other customers. And be prepared to wait in line for a bit, but you’ll be glad you went.
