The Grill Hut is family owned and operated by Jason and Lori Scheer and their four children Jordyn, Hanna and Gabe who can be seen working hard on any given day. Jason and Lori have moved the family to Morro Bay and are becoming quite active in the community. All Grill Hut dishes are family recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. We pride our self on customer service and consistent quality.
The Grill Hut was founded in 2009 by Ernie Waldo. Ernie loved to BBQ for his friends and family and on Superbowl Sunday his friends had this idea that he should open up a BBQ Restaurant and the rest is history. The first Grill Hut started in a drive thru kiosk in Bakersfield where they only served Tri Tip, Chicken, Beans and Pasta. They continued to grow so much they outgrew their kiosk and moved into their first sit down restaurant in 2012.
Jason Scheer also had a dream of starting his own restaurant some day. Jason approached Ernie to discuss his idea of opening a Restaurant on the Central Coast. After lots of discussion and excitement they decided to bring the Grill Hut to Morro Bay.
