This wonderful property which was lovingly restored by a very nice family is a great place to stay on Long Beach Island. The house is clean, convenient, the rooms tastefully decorated and efficiently furnished but very comfortable. The mattress was very comfortable and Mark accommodated my request for a pet free room with no problem. I have to say the breakfasts were very good and Joanne baked homemade quiche and fresh apple cake with fruit/vegetable/herbs from their own garden. Impressive! The location is a quick walk to the beach or to a number of restaurants and even the kids amusement park Fantasy Island! The area is clean, safe and beach chairs and beach comber bicycles are provided for use with no extra fee! I must note that the outdoor shower in the lovely courtyard is one of my favorite things about being at the shore and theirs doesn't disappoint. Highly recommend and I will definitely stay there again!

My second visit in 2 summers. The place feels like home away from home now. The hosts are truly committed to providing a comfortable stay. Once there you have the run of the property, only one block from the beach.Beach passes are provided, bicycles are on-site and beach chairs are in the rooms. The breakfast is great and there are always goodies in the kitchen along with coffee. The rooms have been very comfortable with upgraded bathrooms and in many cases private balconies. I would go there again with no concerns.

Very nice place. Will definitely stay there again. The staff was very nice and polite. The room was nice and clean as well as the bathroom. The bikes and beach passes were included with our stay which was great. Also chairs for the beach were included which was awesome, unfortunately it rained so we weren't able to enjoy the beach but overall great stay at The Island Guest House!

Our hosts Joanne and Mark made us feel like family! We went for 4 days in August and loved it so much we returned in September for "Chowder Fest" with our grown children and their significant others. Twenty four hour accessible kitchen with beverages and fresh baked goodies always at the ready. Our best times were chatting around the kitchen table with our hosts and other guests, some in their PJ's as breakfast was being prepared...

My husband and I vacationed here in August and the staff, accommodations and food were fantastic!!! We chose this B&B because it was dog friendly. We stayed in the cottage and our dog was treated like royalty (e.g., fresh water, dog bowls, treats). Mark & Joanne were so friendly and helpful. They gave great recommendations. We loved that they had lists of local attractions and restaurants (especially dog friendly locations). The B&B is one block away from the beach and close to Fantasy island, restaurants, and shopping areas. We would definitely recommend this establishment and stay again.
