Beautiful hotel with amazing views! My husband and I stayed a few nights after our wedding. The spa was very relaxing, the grounds were beautifully decorated for the holidays, and since We were just married, they had champagne in our room each evening. The service was outstanding! It is pricey, but it is well worth the money!

Went here for new years dinner and it was great! All you could eat buffet with delicious food all around. I definitely ate my share of crab legs. The lobster macaroni and cheese was also to die for. Only giving 4/5 stars because of mix up with our reservation. We had a group of 18, so my sister had confirmed numerous times over the course of two weeks or more. When we went to check in, we were told someone had cancelled our reservation. Luckily we had multiple confirmation emails, and the restaurant wasn't as busy as expected (due to icy weather). Because they were not prepared for us, our group ended up having to sit at two separate tables. Yes, right next to each other and not a big deal, but would have enjoyed sitting together more.

Great hotel in general, old section is very nice and rustic, and the two new wings are like a completely different hotel. Much more modern, but smaller rooms in general it seems. Multiple restaurants and bars to choose from and view from back patio if the sunset is one of the best features. They have a beautiful piece of property overlooking the mountains and a great location near downtown Asheville. Staff was very helpful and friendly for the most part.

The history in real life experience. A must see venue. They have well preserved so many things in this extraordinary place. It's an experience that can be felt and enjoyed throughout your visit. The staff really take care of their customers. A glass of wine, sit back in one of the genuine sofas sitting by the humongous fire places, or out on one of the verandas while having your dinners enjoying the scenery. It's for special occasions, meetings, etc.

This place is not only historic, but is an absolute treat to experience. I went here for some time off, and found the entire experience to be tranquil and revitalizing. I went during December, and the atmosphere and view of their decor and outside view at night were absolutely remarkable. The food, service, and overall experience was outstanding. Highly recommend!
