Nice selection of cafes and restaurants for quick stops. Crazy busy during holiday season, like pretty much all cafes around mid town. I would definitely avoid visiting around this time as it is pretty much close to impossible to find any seating space. The matcha green tea crepe cake is definitely a must try, though. Most crepe cakes I tried here were delicious!

Attempting to avoid the onslaught of tourists, locals and tour guides on our way to Central Park, we opened of what we assumed was the Fairmont. Next thing we knew, we were going down an escalator into a fantasy cafeteria land. Unlike your typical mall cafeteria, the Plaza Food Hall was decked out like any other Fairmont. Beautiful trim, intricate detailing and a Food Hall outfitted in everything from chic to cute. With a large selection ranging from cakes, pastries and pizza to lobster rolls, there was literally something for everyone. Seating was at a minimum but, it was better just getting something and going next door to the park. I can't remember everything we had but, we came back twice in one afternoon because everything was so delicious. Even though it was busy, it was a nice little respite from the outside madness.

Every food option you can imagine is below the Plaza hotel!! It's a high end food court with some of the best eateries in NYC. Sushi, coffee, doughnuts, cupcakes, croissants, sandwiches, and little restaurants too. There is communal seating below the escalator and a large his and her bathroom in the back. Best addition of eating to Central Park South!

We each had a glass of vino and shared some tuna tartar. Excellent and well worth the $40! Only negative thing I could add, is be sure you don’t need to use the bathroom because the line during the holiday season is an easy 30min wait.

Many of these places close at 8pm. Some , even though they closed at 8 wouldn't let you order at 7:45. Disappointing. Todd English is open until 10 and was good. The menu had a little bit of everything.
