Story

The Sandbar Restaurant, located on the north end of Anna Maria Island, has for decades been a favorite for locals. Dine with your toes in the sand and a drink in your hand on our waterfront deck or enjoy our inside dining room.

We offer gulf to table, farm to fork, and pasture to plate sustainable menu items. Our menus reflect our commitment to serving our guests the best in local and sustainable seafood, produce, and land fare.

Reviews

We had just gone fishing and had an abundance of trout. After a long day of being out on the boat we were happy to know that Sandbar was willing to fry it up for us for a fraction of the price. This was hands-down the best fried fish I have ever had. Most places use beer in the batter and you end up with a thick coating and the taste is undetectable; especially when using such a light white fish. We had their honey cornbread and spicy shrimp as well. I would highly suggest both sides. The cornbread was just sweet enough and I enjoyed the coconut coating on the shrimp.

Great food and amazing views. The steak was really good for this to be a seafood restaurant.  I also loved the crab and caviar appetizer. You definitely feel like you are in the Caribbean with these stellar views. Be prepared to wait when you come. Big plus...they have complimentary valet parking which is necessary with such a small parking lot.

Nice atmosphere. Beautiful views, situated directly on the beach.  Food was good: All of us ordered seafood entrees and an appetizer.  Pickled shrimp appetizer was very good. Focaccia bread was good. Entrees were good except for a piece of grouper which was overcooked. Waiter took it back and promptly brought us a fresh piece, cooked perfectly.  Desserts were also good. I had the bread pudding, which was excellent.  Service was also excellent.  Overall good dining experience.  Would definitely come back!

They were very busy,  They still seated us a group of 11 in reasonable amount of time. Food was good for everyone including the 4 monsters enjoyed it. Waiter Charles? Was great especially for how busy. Daughter ordered something she didn't like and owner stopped by to check on issue, but it was no fault of there's only her misunderstanding. They were great about it and gave her another plate of choice. Over all well be back.

: Location is great (2 stars is for the location)
: Service is bare minimum, from the hostess to the waiter. Manager apologized for the bug.
: Food is nothing special and expensive, worst part was a live bug on my child's salad ( salad was complimentary after the bug)
Suggestion:
If the food price is going to be expensive it should be quality (appetizing and flavorful) the food we ordered is not bad its just not worth the price. Even the salad came out wilted. And the burger is nothing special, the eggs over easy on top does not make it special enough and the fries is obviously from a bag ..frozen. Overhaul the menu and hospitality retraining for the staff is needed.
