Stopped here for dinner on a Tuesday evening and the place was packed - and for good reason, the food and service was fantastic. Low-key, casual place (very similar to a diner) with an extensive menu. The crispy chicken salad was wonderful. There was a short wait when we got there, but we were seated within about 5 minutes of putting our name on the list. The waffles are some the best I’ve ever tried (I stole a bite from my Dad). Definitely worth checking out for any meal of the day. Family friendly, good for groups, and they serve beer and wine. I enjoyed it and would definitely return.

The place has a nice feel like an old diner or mom and pop restaurant from the old days. I had biscuits, gravy and American fries on Saturday and they were great. I took my wife and kids in today (Sunday) and things were very disappointing. We had a great server and only waited about 15 minutes for our table as the restaurant was packed. We all ordered breakfast and were really looking forward to the biscuits and gravy. Minutes later we were informed that they were out of biscuits and gravy. As half of our party was looking at the menu again my food was delivered to the table. My scrambled eggs were cold and the cheese looked thick and clumpy. My jalapeno bacon was burnt and looked like it had shriveled up and died on the saucer it was served on. My pancakes were served at the same time and two of the three were warm enough to enjoy. They microwaved my eggs and brought me some different bacon as requested. The jalapeno bacon I received on the second attempt was AMAZING. The eggs and pancakes were very good once warmed. My wife ordered an omelet that she took one bite of and decided she couldn't eat it as it was smothered with runny salsa that was oozing from every crack and crevice and was filling the plate it was served on. The other two meals were fine but the whole experience was very disappointing. We live here full time and were really excited when we discovered this little neighborhood gem. I may give them another chance (may). The only saving grace was that they comped or meals and I left the waitress a $10 tip because she did a nice job taking care of us.

Food arrived quickly to the table but was cold. Summoned waitress through hostess and requested that my food be warmed up using the microwave for about 2 minutes, when it came back it was barely warm. Waitress set the plate on the table and hurriedly walked away. Later as she walked by she asked if it was hot enough but never stopped to hear actual response or show concern to the issue, in to much of a hurry waiting on others. Never came back to check on us, refill drinks, etc until she handed us our bill, she asked if we left room for dessert. Food was bland, poor quality, hot lunch entree (small portion with hardly no meat), no vegetables, roll or salad included. Too expensive for what you get food and service wise.

Great food for a good value with good service. This is one of our regular places to eat and have yet to have anything less than an exceptional meal, usually with food left over. Another bonus is that they are one of the few restaurants in Sarasota to stay open later than 8pm. Keep in mind, the specials come with rice pudding, ice cream, or jello for dessert. You have to splurge if you want pie. Go ahead. Do it. You know you want pie. Mmmmmmm pie!
