Went for dinner on a Tuesday. Overall, just okay. Location: downtown deridder. Parking is fairly easy. Across from the farmers market stand. Atmosphere: fairly open, all tables in the front part didn't go into the second part. Single table can sit 4 people. Kinda quiet- couldn't really hear any music. Able to see the kitchen from where we sat. Service: friendly but needs training. Unable to describe menu items without going to the kitchen to ask. Attentive. Seat yourself style. Food: this is what really made us give the review 3 out of 5 rating. Order the cheese fries appetizer- came with cold shredded cheese on top of fries with bacon bits, a jalapeno mayo, green onion, and jalapeño- so the cheese wasn't melted. It was weird to eat just cold shredded cheese on your fries. It would have been better with melted cheese. Also ordered their burger and chicken fried steak. Burger was just ok, needed more seasoning. Chicken fried steak batter tasted good but the meat was chewy and hard to cut. The fries were just frozen and heated up. They also have southwest egg rolls, fried pickles, onion pedals, shrimp, fish, fish/shrimp tacos, burgers, poboys, sandwiches, baked potatoes, pork chops, chicken tenders, salads, etc. Prices: for quality, too expensive. Their 14 oz steaks and surf & turf was listed at nearly $30+!! If their burgers and such are just okay, I wouldn't dare risk spending the money on a steak that expensive. The burger was about $11, but the side of fries was an extra charge of $3. Chicken fried steak with fries was about $14. Overall, it's okay. I'm sure people have a good time here if they are here to drink/watch a game. It is nice to have a sit down place other than fast food. However, the quality of the food for the price will probably keep us away for awhile.
We eat here often. I give 4 stars because sometimes it's great. Sometimes it isn't. It's a hit miss. Some of the wait staff are very friendly such as the lady we had today. Some are very grumpy act like the hate life. Sometimes our food is great like it was today. Sometimes it's just ok. I will say they do know how to cook eggs. They are always perfect. We just recently visited this restaurant for the first time this past week. My Mother dined in and ordered me a carryout order while there. They did a phenomenal job separating the order so nothing got soggy and gross before I was able to eat it. The food is fresh not some prepackaged junk. You could tell they actually chopped the lettuce up instead of just dumped it out of a bag. We picked up a order again yesterday 11/17/22 and again everything was OUTSTANDING!! Definitely will be our new favorite go to place!!! Parking: There is plenty of free street parking available.
The food was flavourful, and you definitely got your money's worth. The waitress checked on us constantly, maybe too much. The atmosphere was nice, but the temperature was a little cold. My teeth were chattering before we left. I will definitely go back but will make sure I have a jacket!Food: 4/5
Our first visit / Table of 8. Our waitress was awesome! She took all of our orders and never wrote down a single thing. Our drinks and food were spot on and cooked to perfection. They certainly earned repeat customers.Food: 5/5
I visited the restaurant with my sister and dad while visiting from Mississippi. Unfamiliar with the area I thought the location was pretty good. Being in food service myself the inside looked clean and taken care of well. We got fried pickles with ranch which were very good. A little on the salty side but still delicious. My sister got the popcorn shrimp. She said it was good but too much breading and stingy with their portion size. Her side was mashed potatoes which she said were good. My dad got the fish poboy which he said was delicious considering he did not leave any crumbs! I got the stadium burger which was great! I loved the jalapeño bread and the burger patty itself was well seasoned and delicious. I did ask for curly fries and was given regular fries but, no biggie! As a food service worker I understand how it is! If you are in the area definitely worth a shot. Prices did seem a bit high on certain items but to each their own.
This is not the first time I have ordered my hamburger steak medium. Every time disappointed….This time I stressed it 3 times when I called my order in. Girl said we only cook them one way mam. I’m telling you if it weren’t for the gravy….. powder….. INEDIBLE I’m done trying
We have had good food and service every time. We also enjoy the live music here when we can. It’s one of the places that add value to downtown DeRidder.
Nice place food was well cooked and tasty but a little over priced for the portions served. Would have given 5 stars except for the limited Beer slection Parking: Plenty of parking well located
This is my new favorite eating joint in DeRidder. Fish and shrimp was delicious. They had the fights on TVs and live music in the corner, but it was somehow still a good place to interact with the others at the table. The waitress was nice and efficient. Love it.
