The State is a great restaurant with a great location. I love to sit outside while eating and definitely enjoy the atmosphere of Downtown Redlands. The service is excellent. Waiters are patient and always make sure that you have what you need. There can be a long wait sometimes but I'd say it's well worth it. They have a vast menu selection and it's always something to look forward too!

I was impressed! Slightly upscale for my taste but every plate that came out of the kitchen just looked absolutely delicious! Literally 75% of their menu is for drinks. They had a fair selection on food but their desert menu was terribly lacking. Only 4 choices. they were out of chocolate bark, and suggested the butterscotch creme. Live band killed it, for being a folk band anyways.

I think it depends on what time you go, but when I went with a group of friends around 9pm our server only came to our table twice in a hour. I was able to order the State Burger, my friends only got drinks. After we got my burger and the drinks we didn't see the server till we were ready to leave.

So the service was disappointing, but the burger was fantastic. Also the atmosphere of the place is cozy and the live band for that night was a good choice too. Would I go again? Maybe, but perhaps at an earlier time.

Michael the Mgr. Was Exceptionally​ helpful the last 2 times we visited his Gastro pub. I have a large blood clot in my leg and both times he made sure I was able to elevate my leg. The beer & food was Excellent 5 of 5 in my book.

Nice little spot to enjoy the night scene in Redlands! I'd take a date here since, I don't see it as a "go-to" dinner spot or a "let's get drunk" kinda bar. Really awesome selection!
