This store has an amazing selection of comfortable shoes. All three employees were cheerful and polite. The woman who helped me select from the 4 or 5 different styles I had picked out was so patient and not at all pushy. She even brought a couple styles to my attention that I hadn't noticed. I ended up buying a brand I hadn't heard of : abeo. I think they are very attractive pumps and they certainly are comfortable. I will be a return customer!

I bought three pair of shoes to try, one an athletic shoe. During the process the clerk had me stand on the scanning device that measures pressure, arch location etc. and explained where my pressure points are and arch height on both feet. Then we tried the athletic shoes for size. The clerk took the shoes then returned for me to try them again. They seemed to fit well so I said I would take them to try. I ended up returning two of the three pair of shoes and in the process noticed two charges for $37.50. I had no idea what the charges were. Turns out the charges were for inserts for the athletic shoes. I remembered when I got home there were two plastic bags in the shopping bag but had no curiosity about them because I didn't know what they were. I was not told I was buying inserts and certainly was not told they were $37.50 for each foot. Never heard of being charged singly for inserts. When I've bought them in the past they were sold as a pair. I understand the fine-tuning for fitting this allows, but would have liked to have had the explanation at time of purchase. The shoes ended up costing almost $200.00 and are certainly not worth that much. And I suppose I could use the inserts in other shoes but they are made for this brand and this shoe in particular. I will not be back to The Walking Company at Southcenter mall.
